GBFR, Week... What Is It, Six?

Anorexia...
Yeah, maybe that's the ticket!

No, I really shouldn't even joke about such things.

I was worried about getting on the scale today, post-Arizona trip. But Fly's admonition that I might be surprised by what I find was insightful-

The scale read...

199.
This is the first time in years that I'm below the 200 mark.
So, help me VK's.
Doesn't that put me back on my "pound-a-week" schedule?
(Still recovering from the Arizona trip, and my mind is too tired to do the Math!)

Okay, the floor is open for comments-
What's on your mind?

CONGRATULATIONS!!! This is a milestone for you, GB! You just keep the "Thinking Thin" mental mantra going...
Now... let's try a little visualization exercise: no crunches, no sit ups, no equipment and no kidding. Close your eyes, no peeking (except for this blog comment); look, you can see your feet; hey, you can even see you knees caps, and is that my belly button? OMG!

Just kidding, GB; but keeping your sense of humor burns calories and can lessen those late-night, I Gotta Have Ice Cream Cravings! I've often thought of inventing some sort of "freezer alarm" that kicks in after 8pm. It would be hooked up to the local "fat patrol" (who have no mercy), and a "fat flogging" would be ministered upon their arrival.

Just remember there's Guts and then there's Gut. Incorporate this into your "Thinking Thin" mantra: "I've got Guts, I've got Guts, I've got Guts....

Hey, GB, take care, get some rest and keep Thinking Thin!

well, I think it is obvious that a road trip is the answer to weight loss! Hey, I'm up for it!

Of course, boxing up, moving, hauling, unloading, unpacking all of Bubba's stuff might have something to do with it.

I wonder if my cleaning out the garage would be comparable.

Nah, ya gotta go on a road trip.

I remember a trip my family took the summer I turned 12. There were no interstates, of course, and no air conditioning in the car.

That didn't stop us from packing two parents and three kids in a car and driving to Phoenix. All those little towns, those little motels that looked like teepees etc.

Finding a motel was methodical: it had to have a swimming pool and the room had to pass Mother's inspection before we would stay.

My brothers and I played alphabet games, car color and license plate games all the way. My favorite thing was melting crayons in the back window, trying to get that perfect color of fuchsia.

The colors of the desert, and the odd shaped rock formations were awesome. Camelback Mountain fired my imagination for a long time.

Yep, road trips are therapeutic in many ways

Greybeard just missed you. Sharon and I were in Mesa 2-3 through 2-7. The weather was great. By losing weight you didn't eat pizza where they play the big organ. Did you get to do any sight seeing? We went to the Grand Canyon one day it was awesome. Beautiful. Tabby Camelback was great also. We also went to Roosevelt Dam through Tortilla Flats. That was a great drive. Can't wait to see everyone in Florida. Ask SaraJean what her brothers shirt size is. I'll be at the Harley shop in Bahamas before we see you in Florida and will try to buy a shirt like the one I had that she wanted for her brother. Hope they still have them. How many are thinking about making the Hawaii trip?

Thanks TC!
Wish we could have connected in Mesa, but I was very busy manipulating tools during that time, doncha know!
(Insert Tim Allen grunt here.)

We went to the Grand Canyon on the trip I mention in my "Drive" post. For those that have never been to the Grand Canyon, I cannot emphasize enough- that is a sight you MUST see before you die!

I'll get Bro-in-law's T-shirt size to ya soonest guy, probably via email. Thanks for thinking of him!

I'm starting in earnest tomorrow to nail down the particulars of the DDFF, so those of you that are leaning toward attending need to begin to declare your intentions. I'd like to have some reasonably solid numbers by mid-March.
(New VK post is forthcoming.)
