Mr. Melvin Vandermeer - 1918 - August 23, 2007- 89 years old
Mr. Vandermeer died today at 2:00 PM. His son Bill made it in last night at 11:00 PM. John Clements stayed with him during the night and today. Funeral arrangements are being made and Mrs. Clements says probably the showing will be on Sunday and burial on Monday. As soon as I find out for sure I will let you all know when and where.
I was on my way to see him when I got the news.

At least Mr. Vandermeer is at peace now and with his wife. My thoughts and prayers are with Bill and his family.
Thanks, Hawkeye, for keeping us posted.

I sent an email to all the class members but Larry M's bounced back. If you know how to contact him, he might like to know, too.
Hawk and Hotlips, from all of us-
Thank you.
Being so far removed from Indy,
it was wonderful knowing
you were there to represent us and show how much we loved Mr. V.
Knowing also that you'd update us on his condition was a comfort to all.
I know you are busy...
have the same stresses and demands on your life as the rest of us, yet you took the time...
Time, such a luxury...
You took the time to be there.
Selfless and wonderful!
I salute you both!
Thank you Hawk for keeping us updated on Vandy. It is hard to think he is gone.
Goodbye Vandy. Its a long journey between learning of a death and really saying goodbye. And, in between are many spinning emotions.
And, on the other side of goodbye, the sun does shine. The memory of Vandy remains. The deep ache in our hearts now will grow smaller.
Coping with the death of someone you loved & admired is not an isolated journey; people cope with loss every day all over the world. Yet, it's a trip we all must make. I'm so thankful that we all have each other to share this time of sorry.
My prayers are with Bill and his family.

HawkEye - Thank You for everything that you do.
Carol, your Words of Wisdom ring very true.
Thank you to Hawkeye for the time, love and dedication you extended to Mr. V. Know that your efforts will be rewarded.
Thanks PT for taking the time to notify (everyone). I am sure that there are many who would not have known of his passing had you not taken the time.
Even though it is natural to weep at the lose of a loved one, at the same time we should rejoice as they truly are going to a better place. God only let's you suffer what you can indure and then he will take the pain away.
