GB- I loved this. Just looking at these cars brought back so many memories.
I drove my dads 59 Ford in school. It was red and the passenger door didn't stay shut real well. I remember one time when Sharon S., Elaine Y. and myself was cruising around Jerry's and the door came open and Sharon almost fell out in the middle of the parking lot as we were cruising through. If Elaine hadn't grabbed ahold of her we could have "lost her".
After graduation I bought my first car. It was a 65 Corvair. I bought it a Kelly Chevrolet. I paid a whole $2064.00 for it brand new. I watched them unload it from a car carrier.
Then in 1967 I got the car of my dreams. A brand new 67 Camero. It was a 327, white with black rally sport stripes. Bought it after Charlie, my first husband, got back for Viet Nam. Shortly after that he took off, left me 6 month pregnant, two dogs, a bird, and the camero. I had to refinance that car (three) times in order to pay for it. But it was my pride and joy. To this day I wish I still had that car. Even though I am and Old Lady now if I could find another one like it (that I could afford) I would be driving one today.
Guess this is one of those (if I could go back moments.) IF I COULD GO BACK I would never have gotten rid of it.
