When It's Windy It's Wendy or Windy:

And boy has it been windy here! Last night, a flight that normally takes 40 minutes took almost an hour... I was buckin' a 30 knot headwind. The only thing good about it? The 42-year old female stroke victim was the beneficiary of almost a 30 knot tailwind on the way to get the help she needed. In the midst of a terrible situation, she got a little blessing.

Are you counting your blessings on these windy days?
Tell us about it.

The weather here today is absolutely beautiful. Creeping phlox are blooming, the daffodils are breath taking, dogwoods and redbuds are budding. This is a wonderful day and I am so thankful for all the blessings I have received all my life. I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter.

This reminded me of the time, about 30 years ago, I was at my folks in Greenwood. Sometime in the middle of the night, the wind started furiously howling. I got scared and turned on the radio to see if there were any weather warnings.

The DJ would play a couple of songs, then come on the radio and loudly proclaimed, "It's windy!". Well, damn it...I know it's windy. Just tell me more than that. After about an hour or so of horribly windy weather and a worthless DJ telling me what I already knew, he once again came on the air and said, "This is WNDE...Windy!"

Geez-o-pete...I didn't realize I was listening to the WNDE radio station!

Counting my blessing, where to start? I guess watching all seven of our grandkids yesterday at our Easter family gathering was a GREAT Blessing. Watching the teenager hide the eggs and the three to seven year olds hunt was a treat.
I'm looking forward to another blessing and that is getting to gether with friends next week. You have the driving direction and the weather has been great this week. I'm afraid that we are going to have some rain late in the week. That means more good stories. If any of you need to get up with me my cell is 850-326-1116.
See ya'll H of H & C

Our plan now is to start South Wednesday morning after I get off work. Barring a late flight, that should find us arriving Eufaula just about dusk... tired, but smiling.
We've been on a treadmill and both of us need to step off for a while. Visiting with old and new friends will be just what the Doctor ordered.
Dogwoods are beginning to bloom here, so I suspect the drive down will be beautiful.
I am SO looking forward to seeing you all!
