It's March!

Well, here we are. Time flies, doesn't it? Buds on trees here look ready to burst. We've had a couple 50+ degree days here when the breeze blowing out of the South made it impossible to deny Spring is just around the corner. Soon the Willows will be green and Dogwoods will be in bloom...
A wonderful time of year.

The countdown to Eufaula has also begun. I've been working 56-hour weeks for what seems to be forever, so I cannot tell you how much I'm looking forward to rising in late morning, pouring a cuppa Joe, sitting in a chair overlooking the lake and visiting with whomever happens to be within arm's reach. If that sounds like good duty to you, we still have plenty of room for you to join us. Get in touch with me, TD, or H&C and we'll add your name to the list. Details are available at links in posts below, so check it out and get the ball rollin'!

Ferdy left a comment at the post immediately below this one about Jim Robinson's Mother. Anyone with more information, please update us.

I'm convinced Sara Jean has a mild case of pneumonia. She's been hacking now for more than two weeks. She feels fine until she climbs stairs or otherwise taxes her body. TD said he has something similar, and the last time I chatted with him he said he believes he's finally on the road to recovery. There's still lots of stuff running around to catch, so take care of yourselves and don't let your immunity get weak. Obviously, we can thank God the predicted Swine Flu pandemic was another false alarm.

Now... it's Friday again. You've got news to share, haven't you?

Floating an Idea here....

For our 45th - I would like to make it simple aand combine it with the Alumni Banquet. It is Saturday, June 12 (we think!), it is a good time with dinner, dancing and entertainment. If we know in advance how many classmates to expect - we could reserve and group a number of tables together. The ticket prices are reasonable and can/should be bought ahead of time. We have a Classmate, who in the past, has made these ticket available for sale. If I get some positive feedback here - I'll make notification (with all of the details) to as many as I can find. For years, there has been a small group of Classmates who have enjoyed the Alumni banquet. That small group seems to grow a little every year. Let'smake some noise this year..

What do VKers think of this? I have already run this by the Committee. They all think that it is a good idea for our 45th. gathering. Last year, it was held in the old Gym (our gym) and we had a blast. Had such a good time that we closed it down. We moved and continued to have a good time.

Let me know what you think....

Well I'm back among the living. Wednesday Thru Saturday we have had the Florida State and Region 8 Community College Basketball Tournment for both Men and Wemen. We start games at 1:00 and over by 10:00. Leave for work at 6:30am and home at 11:00pm. Oh well it will just makes the time at Eufaula more enjoyable.
The weather today was in the 70's Carol and I made a trip to the beach. Movie and Lunch and green water. Things are starting to get back to normal here.
We are in for the June 12 banquet. Let us know when and were to get our tickets.
We are going to go by the houses at Eufauls on wednesday. One of our "coaches" left a recruiting car in Wadly Al. I have to go and get it. Carol and I are going to make a day of it (if we can find Wadley).
The plants here are starting to bud and bloom. We may have the azaleas in bloom for our trip in April. We will have a new moon that week. It will be alot of fun...

The June 12 banquet is good for us too. We always have a great time at the alumni banquet and where ever we end up after. Looking forward seeing everyone in April.

Hello All,
Count Shifty and me for June 12th.
Last year was so much fun.

Update, well our house is SOLD and all we are waiting on now is the apprasal to go through, buyers loan is approved. They accepted our offer on the house in Florida.

Couple buying our house ownes a house in Edinburgh and they have agreed to rent it to us. As I mentioned we are planning on staying in Indy through the summer. This will give Shifty a chance to find employment in Florida.

So don't uncross those fingers, toes and legs until the apprasal goes through and the papers are signed.

Second update. As I told you my brother was told he has lung cancer. At first things looked worse. Of course it is bad but they feel that there is a possibility with radiation etc. that they (might) be able to shrink the tumor and (maybe) be able to operate. Please keep him in you prayers.
