We are literally on our way out the door as I write this, so it'll be quick and dirty and I'll either comment or post more later.
What a weekend!
Again, I'm closer now to many of you than I EVER thought of being while we were growing up together. God Bless and keep you all.

How great to see you again, but time was too short. I hope this taste of the fellowship we all now share has whetted your appetite for more!
More names:
Cissy.

Mike R.
Mark R.
Welcome to our "family", ALL of you!
I hope this is the start of more of the same.

Thank you both for the joy and laughter!
And finally:

Thank you for being there in the past, present, and we hope... the future.
We'll see you all soon.
And Bo?

Bo, We missed ya but you get a pass from me for sure; what with the Dentist chair I CAN relate. I don't think I have any teeth that would fall into the category of "Original Equipment".
GB, Ditto to your comments and really great to see Mr. & Mrs "C" and Mrs Sloop. Fall isn't far away, so where are we meeting? Oh, and congratulations Mr. President; also, if the election seemed a little scripted, we might have gone over some preliminaries at Hawkeyes the night before . . . please bear in mind that I said Might have! . . . . . I See Nothing, I Hear Nothing and I Know Nothiiing!

This weekend was amazing. I hadn't seen Marty U. for 25 years. And, I hadn't seen Danny R., Gary P., Larry L., or Brenda M. since graduation. I'm really looking forward to the next time we all get together.
Ferdy
thanks G.B. you and all the other 65 ers made us feel right at home. I sure we will be attending more of these in the future.
Larry L., at the banquet but not at the picnic. Still would have recognized him on the street!
(Added to the post.)
C&C, we had more in common than not-
We shared many teachers, the physical schoolgrounds, and the chaos that was much of the mid sixties to mid seventies.
How could we not be immediately comfortable with one another?
There will be more weekends like this one and our track record indicates these visits just get better and better. I'm lookin' forward to seein' you again soon!
What a Grand Time. It warms my heart to see and have a chance to visit with everyone. My only wish is that more could come. Our little 'Affair' is 45 years young and seems to be growing stronger.
Thank You 'all' for the quick 'election' - although it seemed just a little 'stealthy'. And maybe even some faulty vote counting going on.... For all of you that plotted and planned - I say Thank You! It has been my privilege and honor to serve our 'Class of '65'. I will continue to serve to the best of my ability. (which, at times, is suspect, I know!)
It was great to see some folks that we don't see often enough. B&B and Ferdy, The idea of the picnic was perfect, as was the location. It really gave us a chance to 'visit'. Dan, your MC gig could not have been better. The Banquet flowed seemlessly. Marty, the Class is proud to have you as a member and your talk was a perfect blend of Family,School,Community and Country. Those very things are what VandysKids is all about.
Thank you all for attending. Praying for safe travel back home for All. And Welcome to our new members - The Riley bunch.
We will have to do this again some day!
TD, so sorry you were subjected to Annie Bob's constant wheedling about the chocolate raspberry port. Now you know how her poor, pitiful husband feels. That Bob's a saint, for sure!
The time went way too fast, as it usually does when you're having fun. I can't wait until the next time.
TD: Pay no attention to Cissy. I assessed right away that you were "man enough" to not cry if a girl harassed you a little.
As to your election and the vote....ummmm, I might have actually been voting illegally given that I'm not really eligible to vote for the Class of '65 President. I doubt that will nullify your election though.
Rita, I believe that this batch may be even better than the last one. Is that possible? I have 3 left - uh oh, I just heard another cork pop... Oh Well, Leroy will have another batch ready around Christmas time or so....
First - News leaks re: the private discussions that should have been public. Old style back room politics at play here. Now, I find out that there may have been an ineligible voter. What's next? Hanging chad???
I don't think Chad would appreciate being hanged. He might like being hung, but not hanged. Poor Chad.
And now you know where my mind always tends to head...to the gutter.
Cissy you can say that again.
Crown: What are you saying, that Cissy's reduntant, that she repeats herself, that she says things over and over?
TD: Oh honey, I think you have may have underestimated my innate ability to make anyone who dares to cross me into crying like a little girl. It's not a pretty site.
Cissy posted your class picture on her fb page. Love the charming smile. Must have been why you ended up with such a beautiful wife. Oh wait, that can't be the reason. Can you ask her why she's put up with you this long?
All kidding aside, I had such a great time swapping "valley" stories with all you old guys. :)
My favorites though were Janet and Mary Ella. I was in stitches listening to Janet. Glad I got to meet my old buddy Claude's daughters. They reminded me of why I loved Claude so much in the early 80's.
This was just a "feel good" weekend for us.
Hope to see all of you soon.
I agree with your assessment of the weekend, Rita. These gatherings always seem to have that 'feel good' feel to them. Cissy is not being redundant. She is just trying to make a point. I should have said 'pregnant chad'. I wonder what she would have said about chad then?
If you are talking about me and my 'charming smile' - I can tell you that it is not the reason my beautiful wife has put up with me this long......
Now, besides all of that - I am always smiling - you just can't tell it!
