Bucket List

Several of us have retired or getting ready to. Some are still very active in their jobs.  We all  have goals, wishes, and dreams.
Name five things on your bucket list. And where do you want to be in five years?
1. I want to travel more and see parts of the world that intrigues me.
2. Maybe spend a couple of months staying at a flower covered cottage on a little Greek Island.
3. Attend at least one more grand class reunion
4. My husband's goal is to stop at every tantilizing Dives, Diners, and Drive Inns he has drooled over, so I guess I will go with him.
5. Going up the river with Carol and Harry and fish while watching for alligator drag marks. Or go to the lake where Carol and I laughed ourselves silly while fishing for bass. The guys said they could hear us across the lake, but I don't believe one word.

Okay, now your turn.

It's odd and sad...
Hard to think of a bucket list now when I doubt we'll be able to do many of the things we dreamed about because fuel is either gonna be prohibitively expensive or maybe even unobtainable.
I've always said I'd tour foreign countries when I had exhausted the places in the U.S. I wanted to see.
Sara Jean and I had hoped to buy a camper and take off for whatever corner of the country we took a notion to visit.

So let's call it a hopeful dream.
Here's my list:
1. We want to see Crater Lake.
2. SJ has never seen the Grand Canyon. I want to share that with her.
3. We want to see Mesa Verde.
4. We want to ride the Silverton/Durango railway.
5. I want to ride a motorcycle from the East coast to the West, stopping at ANY spot that catches my interest:
(World's largest barbed wire collection, etc..)

We've now pretty much solidified our intent to retire at the end of January. If the economy allows, and our President hasn't established Martial Law restricting travel by that time, we'll start checking items off that list.
Then, MAYBE, we'll consider using our Passports.

Oh and I should add...
On that bike trip I want to ride across
the "Bixby Bridge" like Jim did in "Then Came Bronson".

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. I know it will take time to get over the hurt; but, it will get better. Glad to know you've got happy things coming up in your life. Keeping busy will help. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Thanks Ferdy. Randy worked at Spencer Industries in Dale He was the head of sales. I'm still coming to Ferdinand working on Best Chairs to buy boxes. Should start switching some business over next month. Top Cat

What is Randy's last name? Did he live in this area? Bring Sharon up some day with you. I'm sure Sharon and I could find something to do and talk about all day!!!

Good luck with your new business.

How tough losing a close friend...
It will leave a gap in your life TC, and I'm sorry for that. Dwell more on your good memories and celebrate that you have them.

Where's your bucket list, Ferd and TC?

Randys last name was Rhoades. He lived just south of Boonville. Had 220 acres with three lakes. In the process of working with with his wife Donna on getting appraised. She will have to sell it. Will have many good memories of him. We took 4 o 5 vacations together every year and did projects together all the time. He is greatly missed. It sure makes you set back and think about life and how precious it is. Enjoy everyone around you every day and take one day at a time. GB I've been truly blessed my whole life and pretty much been able to do what ever I wanted. My bucket list isn't much. I think I finally talked Sharon into taking a cruise next year. Want to continue working on the farm with my son thats a real joy. I would also like to do the railway trip some day I think that would be neat. That be a great trip for seven or eight couples to take. Would like to see Montana, Wyoming and other western states to. Will continue to take Grandkids on more vacations also. We've been blessed with our grandkids only living 1/2 a mile away. They spend half their time with us. We gave our daughter our old house and she's opening up a Resale shop in the separate building we have there. Everyone take care. Top Cat

Well, since you asked ;)

1. I’d like to live long enough to atone for all the stupid, mean and just plane dead-brained stuff I’ve done (that insures I will outlive most vampires)
2. Visit the Isles off west coast of Italy and the Cinqeu Terra area
3. Visit Austria for music festival (just in case Capt Von Trapp has changed his mind about our relationship)
4. Visit Isles of Guernsey to see where the Germans stayed. I’d also like to see the Isle of Sark,,, I don’t think they have cars there so that should be fun
5. Visit the Franklin County Fair and ride something that makes me super dizzy and almost sick
6. Visit the Indy State Fair, eat ALL available junk foods and visit all the animal exhibits
7. I’d like to ride the train all around the coast of Scotland, cutting through the middle to see Culloden and the Locke Ness. I think there is also a neat place in the middle where there are NO lights for miles. Must make for an awesome view of the stars
8. Come to think of it, I’d like to camp out someplace and stay up all night looking at the stars (that was the best part of the Sand Box)
9. Get a Eurail ticket, ride all over the UK and Europe, reading one book after another and eating Cadbury chocolate (the UK kind, not the pseudo stuff they send to the colonies)
10. I’d like to see Montreal’s film festival and also Vancouver. Might be fun to ride the train from one end of Canada to the other.

The list goes on but at the end of the day, it's okay if none of that happens. I'm happy here

Way late in posting on this, but GB, my old roomie from BSU and his wife just returned to Muncie from their place about 50 from Durango. Small world . . . . If I make it through this year . . then I may consider the Bucket thing, but for now I'm just trying to hang on and see what is ahead.

Golden Horse, This has NOTHING to do with a bucket list but I must tell you that I found a 12 inch sparkley ball at the Southport Antique Store yesterday. I was alone so I couldn't laugh real loud. I think the price was $35. Should we make an investment?? I thought you might like to know. Bo

I want to join PT on her Bucket List,
PLUS go to Switzerland to see Heidi, Peter (with his goats), Clara and Peter's and Heidi's grandfathers. Then go to Frankfort and see where poor sick Clara lived before she recovered from her illness by eating fresh goats milk and cheese. Bo

Bo, lol, I was reading your comment to hubby and we were chuckling.
I think you found a great deal, you can never have too many sparkly balls. Just ask PT or Bob D.
They sent me a couple a few years ago, still have them hanging from my desk lamp. Good for conversations.
Thanks for thinking of me.

As for your trip, I think it sounds like a great time.

I feel the same way as DR. Not sure what the economy is going to let us do, if anything.
Tracy and I want to sell our house and buy a motor coach and travel around the USA. So many places here that we haven't seen. We would visit family from coast to coast, staying long enough not to wear out our welcome, along the way.
