I got a note from Indy Echo today. She relayed sad news...
Shifty's Mom passed away recently.
IE, as usual, is busy as a one-legged soccer star, and gave me no more info than that. She promises to update us when she has time to take a deep breath.
Until then, put Shifty and IE in your prayers, please.

I'm so sorry to hear about Shifty's Mom. She must have been a wonderful lady because he sure is a neat guy.
In fact, after only a brief chat at the last mini, I found myself wondering if he wasn't one of the classmates.
My thoughts and prayers are with you both. I am very sorry to hear of your loss.
GB - Thank you so much for this posting. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers. Many of us have lost our beloved parents and some are yet to face this loss.
Shifty's mother lived a full life. She was a wonderful mother to (9) children and many, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a wonderful woman and God was with her. She passed away quietly in her sleep which is a blessing.
