Question

Oh my goodness, this Moribund title, let alone being dormant sounds so sad for me. I know I have slowed down in old age, but Moribund???? Dormant, sounds like an old bear in his den, but that may fit me to some degree. I do walk after dinner, can I have a new word please, oh great wizard of the blogs?

So on the off chance I will keep this title forever, please let me ask this question.

Did anyone ever have an occasion to use or remember the "Beep" line while in high school?

Moribund.
Shocked?
That was the intent, actually. I hoped some VK bloggers would be so offended they'd put fingers to keyboard just to make the tag go away. So far it hasn't been effective.
Too bad.

Yeah, I remember the beep line and wrote about it here.
(I had to search through 678 blog-posts to find that sucker!)
Got a story to relate about it GH?
Did you meet a mystery man?

We always loved to find new titles for our older sister, but moribund wasn't one of them.

I do remember when we got a bit older saluting her and raising our palms and saying, "Heil Helen." Don't think she appreciated it, but she was one mean sister. Luckily she mellowed out with age.

I remember the beep line only because my older brothers and sister would listen and wouldn't let me because I was "too young". Ha. They don't tell me that anymore because they realize now that's not an insult.

me and a friend acutally met a couple of girls on the beep line, the problem was they lived in Shelbyville. little to much of a drive for a relationship to blossom.

Did you ever wonder how the number was actually discovered? And so many people from different schools got a hold of it?

GB, as for any stories about the beep line or meeting anyone, that will go to my grave with me. lol.

Now can I have my old life back?

Come on class, help me out here. Do you want to remain moribund also?

Wow, I just went back and read those posts from so long ago.
Thanks for the recap, would never have found them.

August 12, 2008 GH!
That was your last blog entry.
Almost three years!
Here's how to "un-moribund"...
1. Go to your blog.
2. Write a new post, (preferably something witty, intelligent, and interesting as Hell.)
3. Publish it.

And the "Moribund" tag will magically disappear!
So simple.
(Thank God... at least dead blogs don't smell bad.)

Yeah, that's when a huge change came into our lives. Not much into writing after that. Things are better and I will try and enter soon, but intelligent, maybe more off the wall.

Never used the beep line . . . Have to admit that I finally looked up the meaning of moribund, now I have a new word to use on s few people that won't know its meaning either. Warm and sunny here on the south side of Indy.

dj - Exactly where on the south side of Indy are you? I just got home today from my daughter's house in the Fairview/Peterman Road area. Hawkeye had to come over and get my car doors open. I had to let my car run for over an hour before I could get the inch of ice off the windows so I had could drive! It wasn't just real warm and sunny there. I think you're pulling my leg!!

Ferdy,
Consider it pulled! However, the sun is shining today and I'm getting ready to go out and break ice so I can put some deicer down and hopefully see some portion of the sidewalk or driveway before the snow gets here Saturday.

P.S. Heavy plastic over the windshield and doors really helped with the ice this time. I've made great progress . . . . the 'big old' car is in the garage. Now to clear a space for the little one.

I just went out to the garage. My car STILL has ice on it. Although, it is melting off finally. Glad you have sunshine today. It's shining here today, too.

Sorry you missed the dinner last Thursday. Will you be at the next one on February 24 at Piper's?

We drove into St. Louis Monday night and watched as the weather there changed from liquid to worse.
The thermometer in the car read 25 degrees when we started home and 34 when we pulled into our drive.
It stayed above freezing all night at our house in spite of the terrifying forecast we had received.
When we woke there was 1/2 inch of powdery snow on the ground.

Driving NW to work it IS interesting to see how much worse residents fared in the 32 mile trip to work...
There's about 1/2 inch of ice everywhere there, (forecast was for OVER AN INCH!), and driving home this sunny morning was magical... crystal-land.

Suzan, I've been checking your blog two or three times a day since you talked about updating it.
I was frightened of BHO when you published that post...
I can't even go into how I feel about him now.
Save me!

Here's hoping you all are thawing out now.

GB, I had all the intentions of re starting my blog this week, but I lost a very dear aunt on Monday and unable to get back there was just too sad.
I will try to restart soon.

PS I understand the Obama thing, I could rerun that same blog for the next two trips here.
