We're like the original "Hit Parade" with all of our Vandy Hits!
It's great to add another Blogger to our Parade, especially one more from my old stomping grounds on Fry Road.

Do you remember Snookey Lanson(sp) and Giesel MacKenzie from the Hit Parade show? One of my favorites was a real skinny man with a very, very deep voice who sang: "This Old House"...Ha, Ha.

What's the heck's going on in this mind of mine????

How about "My Grandfathers clock was too tall for the shelf but it stood 30 years on the floor"? That guy had a very deep voice....I still wish I could sing!

The Hit Parade was my Sat. night favorite or was it Sunday night? Fun to keep up with the latest tunes and couldn't wait to hear what was No. 1 for the week.

The Grandfather Clock Song!!!! OMG! LOL!!!
And that weekly "Count Down" to the Number 1 Hit...ooooh the suspense!

Can't remember if it was Saturday or Sunday night either. But it sure was a fun TV show. This is one of the few "family memories" that I have.
It seems that we all watched that little TV screen while eating homemade popcorn (pre Jiffy Pop) and drinking RC Cola. What a weekly treat for us...ha!

Unfortunately, Lawrence Welk was never a favorite of mine and I was jealous of that youngest Lennon Sister...whatever her name was? Janet...? No... Help! The brain is fading fast.

Also loved the Tennessee Ernie Ford Show. I even named my cat "Ernie" after him. "You Load Sixteen Tons of Number One Coal, and What do you get? Another day older and deeper in debt....I'll stop...I've gone tooooooo far.

Fly,
I think you are right her name was Janet....I was always wishing she would fall into a mudpuddle! "A little bubble music please!".
