In My Room
Schmaltzy? Maybe. The Beach Boys were every bit the influence on me the Beatles were. The words to this tune are a great example... perfect for a teen facing adulthood but living in the bedroom he grew up in.
All is well with us. Is all well with you? Tell us.
"In My Room"; a great tune when I was home and felt safe. It brings back many happy memories like most Beach Boys songs.
"The Sounds of Silence" by Simon and Garfunkle, a song that is the opposite. It was popular when I was in school at Ball State. I was so lonely and broke! Didn't and couldn't seem to fit in and missed you all so much.
Now I guess I should have sung, "Nobody likes Me, everybody hates me, goin' down to the garden and eat some worms; long thin skinny ones, big fat juicy ones, oh, how they wiggle and sqiggle and squirm! HA!!
Hey Golden, Sandy Ruoff and you share the same birthday....maybe you knew that already.
We have a nice Italian restaurant here that the chef, from Turin, Italy, is also an artist and he has painted the whole inside of the restaurant in scenes from the Sistine Chapel. I could just sit in there for hours and look at them. Anyway, that is where I was taken for lunch. Made my day.
FLY HERE - And a very, very happy birthday to you GH! Glad you had a great day with Hubby & Italian food...yummy. It sounds like you had a very european B-Day. Turin & the Sistine Chapel...lucky girl and no jet lag. Now that's the way to travel...ha!
Love those Beach Boys! They still make me "tingle". Not bad for an old lady...ha!
Yes, it was a good weekend. the last trip to Italy was over 19 hours from here. This was under an hour. I loved the BB. Used to go to Daytona Beach when I was a teenager, had so much fun there. there used to be a huge pier and out on the end of it was a large building where they had the best bands for dances. They always blared BB music that you could hear way down the beach. That was back when they raced on it and you could park on it and have bon fires. Wow the good ole days.
It is good to hear at our age, you can still tingle.

The Beach Boys were da Bomb. Summertime, their music just seemed to sum it all up.
All is well here.
Just celebrating the 22nd anniversary of my 39th birthday.
Happy Birthday Golden! Hope you have a super B-Day.
Love,
Bo

Nothing better than to put the top down on that white 58 Impla, with " I get around " as loud as We could.
Bo,
Thank you, had a great day. Better half took the day off.
I must have known so many years ago that Sandy and I had the same BD.
GH,
HAPPY (belated) BIRTHDAY !!!
Glad you had a good day with your hubby.
