I deleted it.
I had written a rant about an out of work acquaintance I called to tell about a job opening in Pennsylvania. He declined the idea of applying for the job because he "didn't want to move". When I finished the post I realized that although it said exactly what I wanted, it was more negative than I want to post here. Here's the post in a nutshell:
Out of work? Looking down the road ahead you might be sorry you didn't jump at the chance to start earning a paycheck again.
We'll see.
We're back to our routine after our return from Destin. It has rained almost every day since we returned. I'm ready to go back South.
I have no news to share.

So Bo, What's he / she doin? Do you keep a diary of the stuff he does while they're gone just in case he ends up with some kind of post traumatic detachment stuff? Does this give you a clue as to how my week has been? Its been OK, I mean consider the alternative. I'm headed out to the barn to check on the kid. . . I'll give him a bite of carrot from you.

The weekend for us consists of going to two of our grandson's baseball games. At 7, they are fun to watch. So cute. Not a competitive league and my husband was tickled to teach his grandson a few tips.
On another note, Cissy's daughter and son-in-law got their first "official" visit with their "to-be" foster daughters which they plan on adopting. They are not unknown to them and my niece has been waiting to get the official status.
Looks like they'll come to stay permanently in a week or so.
How exciting.
Cissy will be a grandma (finally) any day now.
Cissy: When they call you grandma for the first time, your heart will melt.
Oh, and Crown and Coke is off to Florida for a week.
Yep, I consider myself an official grandma even though I've not met my granddaughters yet and it'll be six months before they can be legally adopted. No matter...adoption papers are merely a formality. They are already granddaughters in my heart.
Saturday-
Mowed the neighbors lawn.
Mowed our ground... (wish I could call it a lawn!)
Tilled another part of the garden plot and planted more corn and beans.
Weeded the two rows of corn and the row of peppers, tomatoes, and cukes.
Used the axe to chop up two large branches that fell out of a maple tree during last week's windstorm, then pulled them down to the burn pile...
Boy, these weekends off sure are relaxing, aren't they?

Your garden sounds wonderful. I LOVE to work in the garden early in the morning.....after that I'm otta there!

well Carol is in Ohio with our youngest. Moving in is alot harder than she remembers. She has been cold. I guess that is the way it is when you get old. I will stay here,were it is 90 plus today. David, Steve said he liked to do yard work. I'm trying to find away to let him so mine. Maybe you and I can work out a deal with him to do both. I don't think it will be cheap. HF
GB - I sure wish I could have ready the post that you deleted. I am sure that I could have added a few things to it. As some of you know Shifty lost his job on December 18,2008. It has been really rough going. But God has a plan and a schedule. Sometime we don't know or understand what his plan is (or why) but we have to believe that he knows best.
Shifty had applied for ANY JOB, ANY WHERE just believing that sooner or later something would come along.
WELL, TODAY IS A RED LETTER DAY. I JUST PACKED HIS LUNCH AND WALKED HIM OUT TO HIS TRUCK (TO GO TO WORK).
As I closed the door to his truck and stood in the drive way waving good bye the tears flowed freely. Then I raised my hands and thanked God for his guidance, support and helping hands.
I want to thank those of you who have know of this and the wonderful support and kind words, AND PRAYERS, that you have given us in these last six month.

Haven't posted in awhile as things have been kind of hectic for the last few weeks.
As I posted above SHIFTY GOT A JOB. HURRAY !!!!! I will have to say the last six months have been the second longest six month of my life. The first longest was the last two weeks of my pregnancy.
Then I had a scare of my life. I found that dreaded (lump). Went to the hospital last Wednesday for tests and (THANK GOD) they said that it didn't feel that it was a cancer but have an appointment June 8 to find out exactly what it is. So good new on Wednesday and they Shifty got news of his new job on Thursday. So it turely was a Red Letter week.
Then my foster sister and her husband came in for a visit. Some of you met Jan and Larry at a brunch we had. They are from Florida and they were here to share in our good fortune. Jan and Larry said to tell all they said hello and hope to see some of you again some time.
Shifty has had a lot of free time on his hands lately so our garden is in and his HONEY DO list (almost) caught up. We have our garden in with 26 tomato plants, beans, peppers, onions, beets and melons.
Bo, I will keep you in mind the next time we go on vacation. (We have (6) SIX Brittany's.
Cissy, CONGRATULATIONS on becoming a Grandma. I am going to be a GREAT GRANDMA in August. We are going to be blessed with a little girl. My grand-daughter is naming her after her two great-great grandma's and ME. Her name is going to be Ava Grace-Lynn.
When I say I am going to be a Great Grandma it just doesn't seem possible. But I want you to keep in mind that I had my son when I was three so I guess that makes up for it. HAHA !!
Oh yes, and Shifty and I had the pleasure of going to the 500 this year with Bob & Barb. Thanks for getting us the tickets and we had a wonderful time.
Everyone keep the FAITH and know that all good things come to he who waits.

Congrats Great Grandma! My mom is a great grandma too.......She prefers to be called "GG". I think that would suit you too!
The 500 was a blast! Good friends, good weather, great race!
Spring cleaning my bedroom right now, do I know how to have fun!

Hi Bo - Mrs. Hawk here. We watched out neighbors big German Shepard last weekend also. Between feeding and letting her out, we went with 6 other couples to a flower garden in Franklin, I think the last name of the owners was Heck. The gardens, 3 acres, were beautiful and the $10 each for entry were for a good cause, the Symphony Learning Center. We went to Gray Brothers in Mooresville for dinner from the gardens..fun fun! Sunday, Church and then off to see my granddaughters new puppy, a yorkie, multeze. His name is Marty and he weighs 2 pounds. Saw both of my kids and spouces and grandchildren Mary and William. William is is 5 weeks old and so sweet. Dinner and a boat ride completed a nice weekend.Mrs. Hawk.
WHEW! Mrs. Hawk...what a day you had! Was the flower garden you visited on Hurricane Rd.? There is a Hasler family who have a lovely garden there. Sounds like a great day.

Praise the Lord for the "Good News". I hope you and Shifty the best of the best. AND, you know I'd try my best to take care of your doggies....6 at a time would be a hand full, I must say.

Echo, that "had him when I was three...or six...or ten" thing doesn't work. Too many people have calculators these days, or can do the math in their head.
But congrats on the "GG" thing. I might even stand a chance of becoming a GG one of these fine days. I'm really going to enjoy being a grandma, and will strive to be sweet like my Grandma Riley but feisty like my Grandma Cissell.
Harry, I actually love doing yard/garden work when I can take the time to enjoy a job well done, so TD can concentrate on helping you get yours under control. Have you seen his lawn? It's small, but nearly perfect.
Echo, what great news! What a load off both your shoulders, huh? Now we'll hope for good news from the medical front too. Keep us updated, obviously.
And Grandma Cissy-
Going from zero to two almost instantly must be quite a shock! All your future holidays will be SO much more fun. I'm sure these kids will provide great blogging fodder and look forward to reading at "C.T.S."
It was 92 degrees yesterday, 93 today. Guess whose air conditioning went into "dying cockroach" mode today?
