Purple Tabby Came to Town & Valley Walk

Got a call from Purple Tabby and hubby early in the week that they would be in Indiana visiting her mom and would we be available that Sunday, Sept 19th. We called a few local VKs and had a backyard party. We had a beautiful day, lots of conversation and food from noon till about 7 PM. So good to relax and visit with friends.

October 9th "Walk in the Old Valley". Depending on the number attending, we can either have a pitch in at the gazebo at New Hope, our church, or our backyard at our home. I need to know who is planning on coming. What time do we want to meet? Need information to get this thing going.

I'm still planning on attending, but I'll be solo. Sara Jean has a conflict and won't be able to accompany me.
I'll be watching for more details with interest. Thanks, Mr. and Ms. Hawk!

The gathering at Hawkeye's was great! Thanks for the invite. Food, as always, was fantastic. And any chance to visit with PT is always a good thing. Good to see everyone again.

We will have to miss the Valley Walk. Going to be visiting family in Florida.

I'm planning on being there for the Valley Walk. Whatever time works for everyone else will work fine for me. Let me know what I can bring or anything I can do to help.

I believe all the Riley kids will be there. Open to the time we meet.

I'm checking with Mike to see if our old house is vacant. I think Witty's may be too.

If the Perry girls still live there, maybe we could bring tables and extension cords and they would let us run electricity to the vacant house yards.

And the VKer's have to forgive me if I'm a little girl baby going back to see where we grew up.

I will be there depending on when they want to schedule my surgery.

Someone has to remind me, is TwoDogs my buddy that fights with me over Leroy's Chocolate Port?

If so, I'm really sorry you can't join us because my favorite brother-in-law just provided us with a whole case of it and I was gonna share some of the bottles, but now, I guess we'll just have to drink it all ourselves.

Hawkeye: There should be at least three Riley's, not sure if Leroy or Bob will be joining us, but I think I can convince Bob to go. But it'll be a "gimpy" group between Cissy's knee surgery, Mark's accident injuries and Bob's 1/3 dead calf muscle on one leg. Man, my family is getting old. Being the "baby" sister has it's advantages.

Yes, It is me - TwoDogs, that likes Leroy's Chocolate Raspberry Port. I remember that you were not happy about me taking the wine. And yes, I also remember that you had said that 'Payback is a -----.' or something to that effect...

Talking with Leroy just recently, he told me that he was having trouble getting the C/R Port wine kits from his supplier. The supplier has told him that the kits have not been delivered. I wondered then if the shipment had gotten hijacked. Ha.. Just joking. I know you wouldn't do that. And that you were just kidding around when you said that you would get back at me.

But,seriously though, if you have the kits - Please give them to Leroy so he can work his magic.

That is some good dessert wine!

I know, I know, everyone is talking about something else BUT I'm not finished talking about the Hawkeyes.

Thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Hawkeye for a wonderful get together. The way they made so many calls, prepared so much food and opened their home to so many VKs on such short notice was no less than magical!

Thank you so much for a wonderful and most memorable evening.

The weather was perfect, the food was plentiful and I don’t think anyone wanted to leave. It never ceases to amaze me how much fun it is to visit with classmates! And how many will show up just to see each other. AND how much fun the spouses (spices?) are! Mr. PT now thinks he’s had some classes with the VKs!! and he's from Iowa!

Oh, and for those we couldn’t get hold of in time or those who had other plans, have no fear - we talked about you! :) . If we didn’t know anything for sure, we made up stuff

OH, I forgot to say who I was!! Heck, I often forget who I am!

PT's note reminds me to tell you that Clint's Warren Central classmates think I was in their class too. He graduated with a class of 450 students or so...they don't know when I tell them I graduated with them that it's a LIE! HA! They just smile and say, "oh, yes you do look familiar". It's pitiful; but the best way to have a good time at a Warren Central class reunion. They don't have nearly as much fun as Center Grove grads.

The Valley Walk sounds like a good time. Looking forward to seeing dear friends once more.

PT, Thank you for your kind words! Hawk and I really enjoyed everyone coming to visit. We did not want the day to end! The conversation was so nice and we all seemed to have lots to talk about. That is how you know you have "real" friends. You can not see each other for a while and then just pick up right away like old times.....not skip a beat.

PT and Mr. PT thank you for including us in your busy schedule when you visited Indiana. Always enjoy seeing you!.
