I am very sorry to hear this news.

Bill was a best friend of my brother Steve all through high school. I got to know Bill when he came back to Purdue for his master's degree at the same time that I was working on my PhD. We always sat together while attending a couple of physics classes that we were both taking.

I didn't hear from Bill for the next 45 years, but then he contacted me (actually Carolyn called me) to get information on Steve so that he could write up Steve's biography for the Class of 65's 50th year reunion book.

My condolences to Bill's family.

Bill was the quarterback I protected on the field.
For some reason he thought it was cute, and prodded me to sing "Can't get enough of that Sugar Crisp!" Kellogg's cereal commercial.
Quiet guy... easygoing... impossible to not like him.
I'm sorry he's gone.
