Danny Ping

This email just in from Karen:

Just received notice that Danny passed away Sunday evening at 7:30 P.M.

Danny worked for Wallace Asphalt for many years.
As I told you the employees were really good to Danny. Two of the girls in the office would go over every day and spend time with him.

Danny did have one brother and I believe his name was Jim.

Danny went into the hospital a few months back and they did surgery on him. After they opened him up the cancer spread more into his stomach and his tongue. They said that his tougue swelled to the size of your fist and of course would not fit in his mouth. When this happened they had to insert a feeding tube, and they had him on a continous Morphine drip. When they knew they couldn't do any more for him they sent him home. His brother and nephew moved into his trailer with him to take care of him until the end with the help of the girls from his work.

They have cremated him already.
Rita (in the office) said that no immediate plans have been made yet, but as far as she knows the family is planning a Memorial Service some time in the next week or two. She is going to let me know more as she finds out.

Thought you might want to put something on Vandy's Kid's to let everyone know. I will forward any additonal information as I get it.

Thanks for letting us know, Karen.

Danny had such a hard death. I pray that his life was far better and blessed in many, many ways.

May God give him peace.

Thanks for the news about Danny. I remember him as a rather shy and very, very nice guy with an impish sort of smile.

I'm sorry that he had such a hard path to take, but am thankful for him and his family that he had such wonderful friends to look after him when he needed it so desperately.

Blessing to Him from His Classmante

Danny loved his cars in high school. If you had a proplem with one just ask Danny. He was a good guy, very shy. Lost contact with him after high school. Jimmy, his brother, has had some rough times with with his children.

Danny and I were on the same Little League Baseball team. In the picture of that team, you can pick him out in an instant.....he didn't change.

He was always a "square" guy. And by that I don't mean uncool......I mean you always knew what you were gonna get when you met him.....he gave off positive energy.

At our 30th he came and we talked at length. As we closed down the event with that "circle of friends" dance we did, Dan was on my left in the handholding circle.

I'm glad for the memory.

Dan.....
Thanks for being one of the good guys.
Be at peace.
