Has anyone ever been to Machu Pichu? or Chili? or New Zealand?
If so, we would dearly love to hear all about your travels!
Make a whole 'nuther entry so it doesn't get lost in the Open Forum.
Ya just have to.
Tabby Girl, You are toooooo much. I'll think about it!
I'm an idiot.
I published this post yesterday because GH and several others are having trouble, for whatever reason, with getting onto blogger in order to publish their own articles.
This morning I woke up and came to VK and realized how this post must look to GH.......
Girl, I'm sorry. I hope I didn't embarrass you by singling you out. These stupid machines have so many vagaries.....there are three or four folks that are having trouble signing on and getting access to blogger in order to publish.
I sure meant no harm.
Forgive me?
PT:
I've been to Trevlac!
Does that count?
GB-Trevlac? OMG!! LOL!!! and OTF! (on the floor)... Next, you'll tell us that you've actually been to Podunk too! Do we remember Podunk? Or have I had a bad dream?
PT- Machu Whoo-Choo???? "Bless You"
Okay, it's near Lima, right? And not Ohio? Ha. Beautiful spot right on top of the world. Hard hike to it; but worth every huff & puff. Been there in early 70's; I even had a llama spit on me. Peruvian's are beautiful people.
When I was there, there was a little unrest going on between some factions...can't remember who was fighting whom...but one could hear gun fire at night. I didn't venture far from the Sheridan after dark. Their pool was on the roof, and that was a little scary after dark also.
So I enjoyed all the daytime activities. Don't know if I'd go back...things are very different there now.
Enough of this!
What's going on in Podunk these days???
GB
No insult taken. Thank you for caring.
PT
Judy went to Machu Pichu, but I haven't had the honor yet.
We are thinking of going to New Zealand, just a hop and skip for us, yeah, right. Would love to see where LOTR was filmed.
Our friends was us to come to Japan for a visit and we want to go to Italy, so we are torn several ways.
GB
Carol said they had problems not getting in still.
It took me about 23 tries, but I think I might be able to contribute now. We will see if I can come up with a worthy subject.

As for Podunk, I have many wonderful Sunday afternoon visits to remember from there.
GH: If you liked the LOTR, you will love NZ. Been there twice and would move there, if I could (very tight immigrations laws).
Seriously, make the effort to get there. It's like going back in time to the 1950's. They've got more possums than people on those two wonderful islands. The trains are pretty good and the cities are incredible. Rainforests, Fijords, Glaciers, unspoiled beaches, and lots of sheep! And they have horses there too!!!
They don't have malls and preservatives in their food & wines!!
Because I've worked as a waitress, I've always been a generous tipper, but you don't tip there! Service people are paid well for the jobs that they perform and tipping is very rare. Hence, you generally won't ever get a grumpy or nasty waitperson. It's an amazing country filled with amazing people!
My last trip there was in 2000, I think; maybe some things have changed in 6 years...I hope not!
I'm willing to go there and work on a sheep ranch to be able to live there, but I've not been able to convince my Hoosier Boy to herd sheep. However, he would move there, if the laws would allow it.
Make that long flight...it's worth it!
Go to NZ before Italy or Japan, if you're looking for a great adventure!
FG
Thanks for the info, I think it sounds like a fabulous trip.
We just like to travel, doesn't really make much difference where really. There is just so much to see.
The no malls and no preservatives really got my attention.
Did you see Whale Rider?
