Narcotic!

Flygirl asks:

This Blog Biz is great, however, can one become a "blog addict"???? I do have a compulsive streak in my behavior..should I limit my blogging??? ha. It's great to be a part of it all.

Man, is that a timely question?!

I've discussed that very subject with Ferdy and PT. I got so excited when Kathy initiated Vandy's Kids......it was like I was on a first date!

I'd stop anytime I was near a computer and check email, then check at VK and Pitchpull. It's so wonderful to get feedback from people that have the same feelings you're having.....or to get insights into those that might have a different angle.

Yes Fly, you can be addicted.
I'm now limiting my blog time to one check in the morning, another in the afternoon, and night time is a free-for-all depending on what else is goin' on in my life.

I know for a fact that others are experiencing the same thing! Is that bad? I suppose it is, if we are so addicted we deprive others of the attention we should be giving them, or we don't attend to our honey-do's.

But I'm still like a kid with a new toy. I'm sure that feeling will wear off eventually, but I'm gonna enjoy it so long as it lasts!

Oh yeah, I'm an addict. I just love checking out this site and a few others. This one is my favorite, though.

I think I would have severe withdrawal pains if I couldn't get to a computer a few dozen times a day!

And to think it was only a short 2-3 months ago, I had no idea what a Blog was! It wasn’t until I got an email from GB with an invite to look at his Blog. That was all it took and I’m hooked!

Ferdy, we all DO look exactly like we did 40 years ago. Honest! Really! Well, some of us might look more like our parents

Maybe we should start the reunion with "Hello, my name is (fill in the blank) and I am an addict" etc

GB-I know that I posted the Addicted to Blog comment....but where the heck did you find it?

I've blogged blindly and can't get up!! Be kind with your comments, I'm new at this Blog Biz. But at least, I've "posted" something...I think???

PT-Great idea: "Hello, my name is blah, blah and I'm an addict and proud of it!!!!!

I went through a mini-withdrawl, crisis last night!!! My Comcast Internet was down....and I could not check my email or the VK Blog! I had a very difficult night...tossed & turned all night...knowing there was really, really good stuff on VK and I could not get a "hit" of it!!!!

I had to wait until today to check VK at work. Can you imagine my frustration? But finally I'm on and have calmed down. I can only hope that my Comcast is up and running at home. I'm getting very shaky thinking that I might be without VK Blog tonight.

I think I need an 800-call-blogs emergency number so I can be talked down. Life can be so cruel to addicts like me and you!

Cold Turkey .. That's what you have to do occasionally. I go on a reverse binge. Seems to work - somewhat!

two dogs- Not Cold Turkey!!! I'm way too compulsive for that kind of action. I'd never make it, and I ADMIT THAT I COULDN'T GO CT!

You are my hero, if you reverse binge...what a True Trojan you are!

I'm so happy... my Comcast is up and running at home tonight! I'm okay: I can blog, I can blog...

Whew!

GB- I'm so happy that you're a fellow addict! I'm taking your approach: once in the morning, again in the afternoon, and whatever at night!
I still get a little lost in it all, but I'm getting more & more comfy in VK Land.
Thanks again to you gear heads for setting it up!!

You guys are cracking me up. I thought it was just me and I am so happy to see that it is a universal problem. Thanks, I needed that.

I keep thinking about the reunion and calling you by your Blog names.
It's getting more difficult to remember your real names!

"Hi Vandy, you remember Ferdy, don't you? And Greybeard, and Mrs. Moe. and Flygirl? Golden Horse couldn't be here this time.
Two Dogs and Hawkeye, would you like more dessert?"

Poor Vandy. If he isn't confused now, he will be after we get through with him.

I wonder if we can teach him to Blog? Or at least get an email machine?

To Fellow Blog-a-holics: Beware of the possibility of "BLOG Narcs"!!!
I'm very concerned that a "BLOG Narc" might infiltrate VK and try a Blog Entrapment. I could be under the influence of Blog and not know it...

GH -I'm with you! I don't care. I'm gonna Blog On!

PT - Vandy needs his own Blog Name. Let's really confuse him.. Something like: Big Dog, Prince, or Big Daddy... These are lame...help

Just as long someone doesn't try and do an intervention on us. God help them.

You are too funny, but such a delight. You sound like you are about 25 years old and enjoying life to the fullest. Bless you, I hope it is contagious.

A Blog Intervention!!!! I am on the floor with laughter!

You're right: God Help Them!

It's such a treat to hear from everyone!

Flygirl! I think your ideas are great! What would you think of giving him a list to chose from?

He is very proud of his Coaching days, he used to play golf a lot and go fishing with his buddies.

Lots of fodder there for Blog names.

GH, you seem like you are still full of life yourself! As for myself, I have found that aging in mandatory but growing up is optional.
Plus I keep getting my shoe size and my IQ confused; the numbers are almost the same!

Great Idea: Give Vandy a list to chose a BLOG ID.

We all need to come up with the list... Oh yeah, he loved his coaching days!

Let's try to get a list going. Then we'll make the costumes and put on a Broadway Show in the Barn! Just a bad joke...anybody remember the Judy Garland & Mickey Rooney flicks???? Never Mind!

Back to the list...I think that mine suck! Anybody else out there?

You are right, I have never grown up totally, I do enjoy life, no matter what, it is better than the alternative.
And anyway, who says we have to have full capabilities with our brains? There are somedays, I couldn't remember a name, if that person was standing there in front of me, then I just laugh, what are you going to do?
My husband keeps me young and we laugh alot. Laughter is the best medicine for everyone.

Even though I am not going to be there with you guys, I think your ideas are great and the people will get a kick out of all the work you have put into your reunion.
