The Mini

Anyone missing yesterday, missed a precious memory, good food and a great time. I know as I age, these get togethers mean more, treasured more and will never come again. Sure, there will be more re-unions, but will someone be missing? Some class mate, teacher or Mr. Vandy himself, that we wished we had just been able to say one last word to or see just one more time.

Special thanks go to Kathy, Patsy and everyone who spent hours putting this together. And Kathy's mother - what a gal. The time and skill that went into making the blanket for Vandy, He won't forget this class of 1965.

The coasters for each of us and the fans, what a treat!

The......
BEST.....
EVER!!!

Without question.
Words won't do it justice.
Thanks to PT, PT's Mom, Ferdy, and Flygirl for the obvious effort toward making this such a fun event!

And folks, let me tell ya.....
If you left before dark on Saturday night, you missed the highlight.....
Jamie and Michael unholstered the Bass, Banjo, and Guitar and played for about an hour. Jamie has a voice like an Angel.....
Michael's no slouch either.
They had us all enthralled and singing along!
Marie's husband Andy demonstrated his style of Klogging....
All I can say is, it was "magic"!

None of us wanted to leave....
most of us didn't until after midnight!

13 of us around the breakfast table at the "HobNob Corner" Sunday morning.....none of us wanted it to end!

When can we do this again?!

WELL, I'M SPEECHLESS!!! HARD TO BELIEVE....RIGHT?

The Mini-Re was unbelievable for me. We've all been and done a lot in the past 40 years, but I know that this 12 hours together was the "topper on my tamale"!

I refuse to believe that 40 years has past. I now believe that a tiny bit of time can stand still, and the Saturday Mini-Re proved it to me. We really haven't changed, have we? We've just "improved".

A very big second on Ferdy's "wives" comment! WOW! What a wonderful "Bevy of Beauties" you guys stumbled on to! They all are such lovely people, and I kept thinking that they were in our class...

Also, the Trojan Hubbies are nothing to sneeze at either. WOW! AGAIN! What a "gaggle of guys" you've got there, girls!!!!

They are all Keeper Spouses! Way to Go!

A very big thanks to PT and PT's Mom for their hospitality.

And....aw, shucks...stop with the thanks to me! I did what I did out of my heart for all of us. This whole Mini Prep, Mini Flight, Mini Experience was a wonderful diversion for me, and everyone of you have brightened my spirits. I have even forgiven these cranky, old, demanding tourists down here...well, at least until something ticks me off tomorrow at the Resort Prision...ugh! Ha, Ha.

Loved Jamie & Mike! No words needed from me for those two! WOW!

Finally, thanks to all of my classmates who are so nice to me. You all made the day so perfect!

Pictures soon to follow.

Oh, Oh, Oh....just one more thing!
All of the food was great. But I gotta an Honorable Mention Award for Ferdy's "Robert Redford". OMG OMG OMG
A very special thanks from my thighs to Ferd!!! Just make sure I get Robert's Receipe...please!
AND... a Second Honorable Mention Award for PT's Brisket...hey, I don't even like beef, and I couldn't keep my fork out of it!

Sorry that I couldn't stay for breakfast this morning. I really wanted to end my trip with an order of good old Indiana Biscuits & Gravy! I know that I missed a great moment...please, please promise me more of these moments!

I know that GH would have loved to have been with us, and I'm so sorry she couldn't make it. But we all thought about her and look forward to seeing her next time around!

Hello to everyone. I already miss all my new friends. I told Hawk to let everyone know what a good time I had this last weekend. He said, why don't you write something yourself, so here goes. I was made to feel like one of the class of 65, accepted as I was by the nicest people I either knew or just met. What unpretentious kind human beings you all are. These last few days felt longer because of all the fun I had. Due to great planning and heart felt work a wonderful weekend was enjoyed by all. A big thank you to everyone, especially Purple Tabby. I am looking forward to future "Vandys Kids" events, whether at Karen S's house or in Hawaii.

Mrs. Hawk again. I just read all your entries about the mini-reunion. I have to second my husband's comment on PT's mom being so nice and I think his idea is great to send the thank you cards. I also want to second the food comments from FG. Wow, the Redford was wonderful. PT's brisket was mouthwateringly fab. I bought the Kangaroo pita pocket "no fat" bread today to be ready to make the wonderful PT sandwiches out of the brisket as soon as I get the recipe. A big thank you also to Mr. and Mrs. Graybeard for making the vacation shortening and long drive up to be with us all this weekend. Hawk and I really enjoyed your company. I really did not want to say goodbye to any of you today.

Hi Guys,

So glad you had a great time. I am so sorry I missed this one, but wait until the next one. Just let me know.
The invitation is always open and tours galore.
Please post lots of pics and if anyone has changed, lol, please put in the names. I am sure you all still look so young and fabulous.
Take care all of you and safe travel home.

Can't say enough good things about our Class, Spouses, Friends, Relatives, Teachers and Others. Mr. and Mrs. TwoDogs say THANK YOU for the special memories.

Mrs. Hawkeye said it best.
"What unpretentious kind human beings you all are."

At the end of the day - to see that sparkle in Jamie's eyes as she was singing was wonderful for me. Jamie and Michael transformed Jean's living room into a wonderland that we all seemed to become a part of. What a beautiful ending to a wonderful day. Thank You, Jamie and Michael!

The whole day was truly magical for the two of us.

Thanks to all who had a hand in this. Ferdy Flyer, FlyGirl and a Special Thanks to PT and Her Mother for making it all come together.

Magical, special, wonderful, etc., etc. Again, I can not say enough good thing about our class.

The "Best Ever"? No doubt!
More to come? Absolutely!

GoldenGirl and BoMarGirl - We missed you!!!!
