Tony Lee Shirrell, Jr.
This is my youngest brother's son, TJ Shirrell. He is Iraq now on his second tour there. Lets keep him and all our troops in our prayers. One of my sons just returned from Iraq in December.
And by the way...... how long ago did he pin on those stripes? Promotion to E-5 is a biggee.... If that was done recently, also give him our congratulations!
He was promoted last week to SGT. He sent me some more pictures last night. One of the pictures was with his shirt off and he had several marks on his shoulders and chest. I don't know if he was trying to tell me something, guessing he was. He is in Bagdag. Its amazing how you listen to what is going on over there so much more when you have your own family there.
You must be proud of your nephew. We will be praying for his and all the others a safe return. Their work will be done some day making the world a better place.

May God be with all of them!
Noble service.
Put on the uniform, and you agree to be placed in harm's way.
Carol, please let Tony know that we all appreciate his sacrifice and pray for his safe return home.

A BIG thank you for being so brave and giving.
What a handsome young man! And the promotion is stellar!
:::SALUTE ::: to the man, his character, and his dedication.

God Be with your nephew and all of the others serving in the Middle East.
