So Far So Good For Oahu

I want to take the time to thank you for the concern and your thoughts on the hurricane coming our way. The Big Island dodged a bullet, but did get lots of rain with warnings of flash flooding. The Big Island also had a earthquake during all this. The warning there has now been cancelled. Flossie is still heading this way, but continue weakening is the notice right now. She should be totally through here by Thursday. She is passing Maui now.
We just got a new crank radio with the weather station on it and I have been cranking like crazy.
We now have a funky coloring in the sky, but the winds aren't bad yet.
The wind is out of the East at 16mph gusting to about 25.
I think we will be okay. We have more concern since we have moved here, as our neighborhood is right on the beach, but we set a little bit on the inland side of it. We are on the south shore right next to Pearl Harbor.

What a way to spend my birthday, uh?

Joker, I found a picture of Mrs. Rueff's class, who did you want to know about? I love your puzzles you have been publishing.
I was in Mrs. Merrilees class with BO.

Notice for Joker,

I don't know if you have been watching the new show "Beach Patrol" on the Court Channel, it is on Mondays here, it is 2 one half hour programs featuring our lifeguards here on the island and how amazing they are. The best in the world. Anyway, they feature your favorite place, "Sandy Beach" for so many rescues, and I can't help but think of you everytime I watch it and you losing your suit and dignity. Don't feel bad, it is one bad beach and I won't even stick my toe in it.

GH-
Never heard you called "Cranky" in the past, but I suppose the nickname would fit henceforth, huh? Glad to hear the likelihood of anything serious happening is small... keep us up to date.
Hurricanes, earthquakes, etc...
tell me again why you moved to Hawaii?

And Joker claiming she accidentally lost her suit at Sandy Beach was just a cover story...
if you've read some of the stuff on her blog, she was actually quite the trend-setter after she graduated CG!

First off I hope Golden Horse stays safe from the hurricane & earthquake. My daughter has had to flee several hurricanes in the past several years, when she lived in the Destin/Ft Walton Beach area of FL. So I know it's a scary thing.

Second: (and I'm laughing as I say this), I did not lose my bathing suit on Sandy Beach(maybe the top came down a little bit) it was my ex-husband who got his swimming trunks ripped off him by one of those waves. Whoever goes to Hawaii this fall, I hope GH has time to show you this beach. It is UNreal.

Third GB: I erased that one posting that told a little too much about me. Some things are best left to the imagination. Let's just say I was an "extreme wild child" when I left HS. Then my first husband had a job where we hob-knobed with the rich, famous and the politically inclined quite often. Then after my divorce, I was a wild child again. Then remarried and finally settled down to raise my 2 kids.

GH: I didn't want to know about anyone in particular from the 2nd grade, I just would like to see who all was in the class with me.

Whew! Ok, lets talk about somebody else.

GH - Hey, don'tcha just love those crank-up radios and the noise it makes while you're cranking is somewhat entertaining...HA!

Good to hear that Flossie is not going to blow you away; even though I'm far away in Indy I feel like I should do something to help if I can.

I heard one of the weathermen say, "Flossie, what a name for a hurricane!" I guess he didn't have any kin named that....I had an AUNT FLOSSIE AND UNCLE GREEEN! HA HA!! So, if we have a hurricane named "Green" he'll be surprised at that name too, won't he??

Take care...hope you don't have to crank much longer!

Sharon thomas, Steve Sutton, David Windisch, Ron Smithey, Danny Thacher, Judy Willoughby, that Marren Surface girl and Robt. Waugh.
I hope this helps jog the ole memories.

GB, Nope, not cranky, my radio is. Anyway, will keep you posted on the weather, we really don't have too many scares here a year and they really know how to keep us up to date.
Let's see, I moved here because the weather is still the most perfect, you can still go to a big city and not see smog, and the humidity is low. I do better with my asthma and fibro here.
Ca. had eathquakes, Co. had blizzards, Kansas had blizzards, and tornadoes Fl. was a little too warm and humid for us, In. had Blizzards, tornadoes, heat and humidity.
So I guess it is just what you want to live with that mother nature wants to dole out.
I take each state for it's positives and keep in mind the slogan that was on U hauls for so many years..."remember, it's an adventure."
Did you mean that Joker was a uncover or cover story, I am sure there is more to it here. As for it being her husband's trunks, well that remains to be seen. Oh, I am bad.

Joker, more puzzles please, those are neat to see what people come up with.

Bo,

Thanks for the well wishes.
I agree, I think Flossie is a little too feminine of a name for a Hurricane. Why not Buck, or Dude,
Gert, or something with substance, but not Flossie.
She should pass south of us later on and hopefully give us some much needed rain and a little wind. the sky is a little funky right now. Sort of eerie.

Yes, I love my crank radio.
Thank you for the well wishes and keeping us in your prayers, that is a big help.

Looks like you've dodged a bullet GH.
I'm glad.
Now it looks as if Dean may have Tools in his sights.
Let's hope this season calms down soon.
