2008 Goose Chase

I'm on the last day of my annual "Wild Goose Chase" with the helicopter, and there's no time to do much more than say, "T.G.I.F."!
Now, it 's been mighty quiet in these here parts lately. I know there is news or comment just waiting for a chance to be shared.
Let's hear it now!

Good morning everyone.

So far all the tests have come back that I'm normal. There must be a mistake! My brother says I've never been normal! I have an appointment August 1 to see one more specialist. Don't you just love doctors. My doctor sent me to the first specialist, that doctor referred me over to another, the third sent me to another, and now that one has referred me over to another. What happen to the good old days when you could go to one doctor for everything?

I'm feeling really good most of the time. I still have the pain in my side and they can't figure out where the blood is coming from. I don't know what this other specialist is going to do? My body has been put through almost every test the doctors could think of. I've had so many C-Scans, ultra sounds and X-Rays, that I light up at night. Ha

Watching the news last night and there was a terrible crash in AZ. with 2 med. helicopters. Immediately I thought of GB. GB - you be careful flying around. I'm glad its been quite for you.

My son Rob is coming home for July 4th week end. He's in Missouri in officers training school. All my kids are all wanting to go canoeing. Not sure if we'll get that pleasure with the weather. Hasn't this year been the worst weather system in a long time?

I think the Irish fest would be fun. Maybe by then (September) we'll start getting some dry weather.

Work has started picking up and I'm glad. Started thinking I might have to send Tracy out to get a job!!! Gonna have 3 of my grandkids here this week, I've got to come up with something for them to do if the rain doesn't stop. They could stay out in the back in the creek all day when the weather is good. Forecast is calling for rain 5 out of 7 days. At least I don't have to water my yard and flowers. Sure is saving on my water bill.

Planning a trip the 3rd Saturday night of July to Tennessee. This is when they hold an old fashion ice cream supper. The proceeds go to the upkeep of the grave yard where all my family is buried. Farmers donate their veggies, local stores donate what they can, farmers wives makes quilts, pies and cakes to donate for the auction and supper is cooked with all the goods from the gardens and the old chicken's neck is rung for some good old fried chicken - - Good eating. Tracy's first supper with me, he couldn't understand why in the world I would bid and pay $300.00 for a single watermelon. Now he's more of a bidder then I am. We've been known to bid against one another. They have a cake walk, me and dad won many times and he would give the cake back to be auctioned off. I've seen that cake bring $500.00. Its fun and all for a good cause.

Guess I've rambled on long enough.
Hope everyone has a good 4th of July.

Be safe.

Great to hear that your are "normal", Carol! I'm like you and don't understand why 1 doctor can't be the repairman(or woman).

Your trip to Tennessee sounds like so much fun. We have a Homecoming in Somerset, KY (at Flat Lick Church) similar to yours. I love to go when I can. It's always the hottest and most humid time of the year but so wonderful to see the folks and have some good food and fun.

If I see anyone glowing in the dark, I'll know it's you!

HELLO EVERYONE. WAS SO SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT DAN'S DAD. LOSING A PARENT IS NO EASY THING. I STILL MISS POP AND THINK OF HIM EVERYDAY AND IT HAS BEEN 39YEARS SINCE HE PASSED.

SORRY TO HEAR CAROL HAS BEEN ILL. CAROL, HOPE YOU ARE FEELING BETTER. GET IN TOUCH.

WELL, I CAN RELATE TO THE DOCTOR THING. I HAVE BEEN AT IT AGAIN MYSELF. I HAVE BEEN GOING FROM ONE DOCTOR TO ANOTHER FOR THE LAST MONTH. THEY HAVE DRAWN SO MUCH BLOOD FOR TESTS I FEEL LIKE I NEED TO EAT SAW DUST JUST TO FILL IN THE HOLES. HAVE HAD A (BIG) WEIGHT LOSS OVER THE LAST THREE MONTHS. GONE FROM A SIZE 8 TO A SIZE 4. S-O-O-O-O IT HAS BEEN FROM ONE DOCTOR TO ANOTHER TRYING TO ELIMINATE THIS AND THAT. RIGHT NOW WE ARE WAITING FOR TESTS TO COME BACK. THE THOUGHT IS THAT I MAY HAVE ADDISON'S DISEASE.

WHEN THEY TOLD ME THAT I SAID. OK !!! SO WHAT ADDISON'S DISEASE??? FIGURED IF I DID - THEY COULD JUST GIVE ME A PERSCRIPTION AND THAT WOULD FIX IT. WELL, NOT !!!!

FIRST THING THE DOC SAYS IS. WELL, (IF) IT IS ADDISON'S THEN IT IS MORE SERIOUS THAN YOU THINK. ADDISON'S IS CONSIDERED TO BE A FATAL DISEASE IF NOT TREATED WITH DAILY MEDICATION AND MONITORED CONSTANTLY.

THEY ALSO HAVE ME SCHEDULED WITH ANOTHER SPECIALISTS TO RULE OUT A TUMOR IN MY SMALL INTESTINE. AIN'T IT A B _ _ _ _ TO GET OLD??? SO JUST WAITING ON RESULTS.

ON A BRIGHTER NOTE ! ! !
JUST FOUND OUT I AM GOING TO BE A (GREAT GRANDMA). WELL, I'M NOT SURE IT THAT IS A BRIGHT NOTE OR NOT. HAHA !!! (GREAT) GRANDMA!#$!$#! CAN IT BE POSSIBLE THAT I AM OLD ENOUGH TO BE A GREAT GRANDMA.

LASTLY, I RAN INTO O.J'S WIFE AT THE BANK LAST WEEK. SHE TOLD ME THAT O.J. ISN'T DOING VERY WELL. SO IF ANYONE HEARS ANYTHING ABOUT HIM KEEP US POSTED.

THIS YEARS IS REALLY FLYING BY. IT WON'T BE LONG UNTIL IT WILL BE TIME TO START THINKING ABOUT THE HARRIS ANNUAL MINI REUNION. WAS WONDERING WHAT YOU ALL THINK ABOUT HAVING IT IN SEPTEMBER THIS YEAR INSTEAD OF END OF OCTOBER. GIVE ME SOME FEED BACK.

How about us just taking off to some sort of retreat, out of the way R & R place and forget about these doctors. They do all these tests and then tell ya they still don't know. I think we could be our own doctors and know more. Everytime they say it could be one thing, I search on line and read everything I can and Then its something else the next visit. I've done more research in the last year then I ever did in school.
All kidding aside, hope you find out something soon and all will be well.
Oh - I'm with Bo, don't do the sawdust thing - might be a little rough!
Doing the mini anytime is good, but keep in mind the Irish Fest is also in September. Also in September LH might not have to come up with so many logs for the fire! Ha.

Carol,
Hey girl. Thanks for the come back. Give me a call and let me know how you are doing and what the doc's have to say. Your R&R idea sound like a good idea to me. I'm serious. Just to check into some nice hotel for a week end to get away from everything would be a wonderful idea. Lay around a pool or something. No matter how bad I feel I always think I have to be working. Laundry, cleaning, cooking, and keeping up with the yard work. I feel so quilty to just lay down and say the heck with it all. It is amazing the dust bunnies you can see floating around when you just try to lay back.

Forgot about the Irish Fest in September. This crazy Indiana weather makes things hard to try and plan anything. I am still waiting for Spring and Summer to get here. Doesn't seem like we have had any real seasons so far this year. Probably should still plan on October. Trust me Shifty still has a (huge) piece of Big Bertha set aside for the fire.

Bo,
Thanks for your feed back. I will try and stay away from the sawdust. Was thinking about something you wrote (a long time back). Sure wish Pop was still here. Some of his pancakes would sure hit the spot and maybe fill in some of the gaps.

Am suppose to get back reports sometime this week on the tests. Will fill you in when I hear something.
