Thoughts and Prayers

BobWhiteDan doesn't do blogs.
He informed me they take too much time.
So he won't see this post, or comments that follow.
But today following the "Hump Day Quote" he normally sends out to many of us on Wednesdays was the following request:

"Please keep me and our family in your prayers, we bury Dad tomorrow."

Put Dan and Edna in your thoughts and prayers today. Call, write, email... and let them hear from you.

Thank you, thank you for posting regarding BobWhite's dad! I would have missed going to the funersl home to pay my respects.

Just got back from the Funeral Home. Saw Liz, she is doing o.k. but looks weak. Also saw Danny and Elaine and younger brothers Darrell and Dwayne. They are heartbroken to lose their dad. Bill Francis was a fine gentleman and will be missed by many people.

I believe we could have had a Center Grove Alumni meeting there tonight. Many White River Township people were crowded in the room. Sounds like the old gym will be town down in 2010 and our elementry before that. I'm an old fuddy duddy...I don't want them to do that. Matter of fact, I wish the old middle building had never been torn down. I was in line with Redgie's youngest sister and she feels the same.

Thanks Bo for updating us.
Thanks too for representing those of us that couldn't make it. I hope BWD knows we are all thinking of him. Most of us have either been where he is or will be soon. Harlie has been dead five years now and I still daily think "that's something I ought to share with Dad."
I guess that impulse never goes away... maybe it is fact that our parents truly always are near.

You'll remember this post I'm sure. I too mourn the loss of the middle building and all the memories there. Hatchet's tour leading to the old gymnasium was flavored with the knowledge that all things pass, and the memories we all have of games and meetings in that place will only live in our memories when that structure goes.

Saddens your heart, doesn't it?

Yep, brings a lump in my throat. I'm not really convinced it's necessary to tear the gym down. They are replacing it with another gym! One that the seating will push back so that more P.E. classes can be held at the same time. Just seems like a lot of expense AND LOSS of history that might not be necessary.

One of my traits is to embarrass myself every day. Before the "Center Grove" in stone from the old Middle Building was inside the high school, it was surrounded in brick and placed in front of the school (this was for an earlier remodel). The first time I saw it I said to Jerry Dunn, "WOW, that's really great, it looks EXACTLY like the one on the old middle building". I can't print what Jerry said to straighten me out! HAR!!

to date I haven't had much luck with blogs, I think it is a user diffency and the frustration level just gets too high to cope with. for instance this is the third time I have typed this comment. well here I go again!
