They Don't Write 'Em Like That Anymore...

My favorite from Little Anthony and the Imperials, TD...
Got one you like better?

And Bo, we'll cue this one up at the next mini, and you can give us a 30 second demo!

He had a few - "Hurt so Bad" was another one. "Shimmy Shimmy Koko Bop" I believe my favorite was "Going out of my Head", though.
Jimmy Ruffin was another one that I liked along with Ben E King. There were so many good singers and song writers in the 60s. Of course, we were 'that age' when the songs meant something to us. The good thing about listening to these songs are that they take you back - in a good way. Some to a place that may not be so good. But, we survived!

Goodness, I saw Chubby in person when we lived in Vail about 24 years ago and he was amazing still.
He rocked the place about 10 feet from where we were sitting.
I don't think there was a bad group when we were in school, unlike nowadays.
I loved the school dances and when the Cavaliers from G'wood came to play.
What else you got out there for music GB, you are doing great so far.
I loved any song that was a buckle polisher.

Buckle Polishers - my favorite, also! Although, I have to admit, I used to really enjoy watching the girls dance the fast songs at the Sock Hops. Golden Girl, you were one of the best.

GreyBeard - work your magic with this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gA0GcXV2njY.
It is an old Jimmy Ruffin song done by Joan Osbourne accompanied by a Motown house band known as the Funk Brothers. This is a long version of the song and you have to stay with it til the end. It's a great rendition and to me - it's a classic. Probably one of my all time favorites.

TD,

Thank you very much. I loved to dance and still do. I have a bad case of "Happy Feet' once in while....but only when I am home alone. Not as pretty as it used to be.
A little "Turn the Page", or "Unchained Melody," or "Knights in White Satin," and I will follow you anywhere.
I love the songs you guys have been choosing. Great job.

The Dell Vikings had Come go with me, and Bobby Darin had Dream Lover, which are both very good.
