Do You Want To Dance?

Back to the future... Elections are over. New President in waiting. Economy is in shambles. Savings accounts are shrinking. We've seen it before.

Need a Lift? Watch the video and allow it to transport you back in time.

As Greybeard would say: It's Friday! What's on your mind?

Apparently not much on people's "Friday" minds, TD. Maybe they'll have busy "Saturday" minds?

Three computers now, and I can't get the video to play. Don't know why...
I can move the cursor and see the pics, so I know if I could hear Chris Montez I'd enjoy it. I'll keep trying.

It's leaf mulching time at Casa Greybeard.
Started my big mower before I noticed it... flat front tire.
The smaller rider doesn't mulch as well and has a smaller deck. Checked the oil, then used the last of the gas to fill it. So when it ran out of gas I had a good excuse to go have a beer. And I did.

It's finally turned chilly. Sara Jean pointed out- it's been the most beautiful Autumn we've seen in years. We've been spoiled this year so far... no hard freeze yet.
And we really haven't had much rain.

Thanksgiving approaches. Big Bubba and Desi will be headed our way.
We're all excited.
I hope my fellow VK's are all well, and just too busy to tell us so.

Thanks TD for caring and taking the time.

All is well at "Casa Joker". Ha, that sounds funny.
Autumn here in central IN has been kind of bland. Not a whole lot of color in the trees, but people are still flocking to Brown County to see what they can see. It's a tradition for some folks, I guess.

Nothing much is new with me.
Same-O-same-O. With the exception of my dog, who I had spayed last month. So there will be no more baby poodles at Casa Joker. So now I only have 4 poodles: Mom, Dad, 2yr old from the first litter and a 6mo. old from the last litter. As long as I stay away from the animal shelters and don't read the want-ads, I should be able to keep it down to 4. We'll see. I have picked up strays and rescued dogs & cats my entire life.
It's kind of a tradition with me and hard to break, being the animal lover that I am.

I hope to be blogging again with all you, on a regular basis. I sure have missed it!!!!

Well, where were you in "62? I think we were Sophomores at C.G. If we had a movie of myself at that time, I would have to watch like I was watching a horror movie with my hands over my face. It would be fun to really see what we all looked like and talked about then....mostly
parties, boys, make up and basketball for the girls I would think. We were all such fasionitas! I remember eyelash curlers being really popular in 8th grade; but by 10th we were way past that.

It is cold this morning. I do have a Duck House, for my IndyAnna and Jemima thanks to Clint. They are not in it yet but will be soon.

Hope you all are having a good Saturday.

Yes, We were sophomores in 62/63. Good year/bad year for me. W. S. had his accident early in that school year. That hit the family hard. Very difficult start of the school year for many. So much promise, so quickly taken away.

I had decided not to try out for football that season. An earlier minor injury lead to that 'family' decision. Very disappointing for me. Probably never had much future on the team, but always thought I could contribute a little something. Got over that and decided to concentrate on spring baseball. Had a good season. Made some new friends on and off the field. One of our classmates (RM) had a younger sister and I started dating her (brothers and sisters all had the same initials - RM) toward the end of the school year. Was a good match - I think I asked her to go to our Junior Prom the next year. I hope my memory is correct - not that it really matters!

Anyhowwww - that song was another favorite of mine and brings back some good memories. I couldn't dance to it, though, and always regretted not being able to dance like that. Was even a little jealous of my older brother because he could 'dance like that'. If I could - I would have been asking a whole lot of girls "Do You Want To Dance"....

Well, that's a little bit of where I was for our Sophomore year. BTW - The Beach Boys performed the song in '65. That was on a popular TV program. With just a little searchng you should be able to - Name that program! I will also ask the same question that Bo asked "Where were you in '62?"

GreyBeard, I hope that you can hear the music. The song is actually an old Bobby Freeman tune originally done in '58. Made popular again in '62 because of the movie 'American Graffiti'. You will recognize it when you hear it. The Beach Boys did it again in '65. It was a song that had some staying power to it. Like many of the tunes from our time. Or is it we are just getting old????

Heard it finally, and sure, I remember this version.

Joker, I'm sorry to hear you know longer have a fertile bitch. We are SO pleased with our Lucy...
We frequently talk about trying to clone her, and thoughts of your offer some time back come to the fore.
How wonderful to hear from you again, gal. We have missed you!

On the way to the airport to fly with students today, I was thinking:
Where is Ferdy?
Where is Fly?
Where is PT?

Can we report them for neglecting us?

Pokin' around and found it-
The Chris Montez song was called "Let's Dance".
