Onward Trojans!

Sung to the tune of "On Wisconsin", I never knew the words to our school song.
Our band would play it before every home game, yet I never was motivated to learn it. And I felt a little stupid trying to sing it at football games because one segment I actually knew went, "Shoot that ball right through that hoop, we want to see you scoooooooooooore!"
Hoops? At a football game? So trying to not look the fool, I'd fake it. I'd pretend to sing the tune while mouthing nebulous words, trying to show great school spirit.

Do you know the words?
Why not share them now?
If someone can print them here I promise to attend a football game in the fall and sing "Onward Trojans" lustily, with the correct words!

Meanwhile, it's another Friday...
Man, they seem to go by quickly, don't they?

C'mon now, give us your news, good, bad, or indifferent.

I'm getting old you know so the old brain ain't what it use to be. But I (think) I remember the words to our school song.

I may not be exact but I think I am pretty close.

Onward Trojans
Onward Trojans
Fight fight for our game
Put the ball right through that hoop
We want to see you score
Rah Rah Rah

Someone correct me if I don't have it exactly right.

For the last year for some reason I haven't been able to post individual postings under IndyEcho and have to just put under anonymous in response to other postings. I use to post a weekly ditty to bring a smile for the day.

I have passed up so many (good ones) I have run across because of this. But I ran across this one and just had to share it with ya all.

LATEX GLOVES
Next time you use a pair of rubber gloves, you're going to smile when you think of this:

"A dentist noticed that his next patient, a little old lady, was nervous, so he decided to tell her a little joke as he put on his gloves.

"Do you know how they make these gloves?" he asked.

"No, I don't," she replied.

"Well," he spoofed, "there's a building in Canada with a big tank of latex, and workers of all hand sizes walk up to the tank, dip in their hands, let them dry, then peel off the gloves and throw them into boxes of the right size".

She didn't crack a smile.

"Oh, well I tried" he thought.

But five minutes later, during a delicate portion of the prodedure, she burst out laughing.

"What's so funny?" he asked.

"I was just envisioning how condoms are made!!!!"

(Gotta watch those little old ladies! Their minds are always working!)

Have a great day everyone.

Thanks, Echo! Hopefully, my blindness is only temporary.....

Visions - Just read an article about the flooding in Fargo. The article talks about a nursing home ordered to evacuate it's residents. Some residents were not happy. The reporter was interviewing a 98 y.o. Lady. She was not happy about leaving, but would go if they forced her. Her rationale for leaving.
"I can swim, but not that well...."!!!

We cannot make the Evansville "Excellent Idea" Will miss seeing everyone..

We are in the process of plotting time off for the Annual Destin trip. Hope to see all there!

I remember it. As a bona-fide four-year Booster Club member, I better remember it...I still sing it when I hear "On Wisconsin".

"Onward Trojans
Onward Trojans
Fight right down that floor.
Put that ball right through that hoop.
We want to see you score!
Rah! Rah! Rah!
Onward Trojans
Onward Trojans
Fight on for our fame.
Fight Trojans Fight
And we will win this game."

I think a few words were changed when singing for football games, but I never was a footbal fan.

The only Trojans that interest me Bo were the high quality ones made in White River Township, Indiana!
(Thanks for the education on the old CG song!)

The song Bo referred to was the Alma Mater song for CG. Many schools did not have two songs, but CG did. WCL

Thanks, Bo...I knew there was a slightly different version for football! I always loved the end where the cheerleaders gathered in a circle 'round the Trojan in the center of the gym, then did the T-T-TRO routine. During my Booster Club years, I saw the cheerleader skirts go from just above the knee all the way to just below the butt--in just 3-4 years! Come to think of it, we all wore skirts that short!
