Trial Balloon

We tried this once before and reality got in the way...
Closed on Sundays, I didn't leave enough time for everyone to make plans.
Let's try again.
We're tentatively looking at 15 August. Several have indicated that day is open for them...
They won't be frolicking in Italy or attending a Doctoral graduation. It's far enough "out there" that you should available to come share with us.

So take a look, make a mark on your calendar, and give us some feedback.
It should be fun!

Sir, I believe if you'd seen us trying to haul our luggage way up that steep path to our cliff apartment in Manarola, Cinque Terre, you'd realize we were NOT frolicking, but TRUDGING.

August 15th works for me. Can't wait to meet everyone!

I'd call it trekking, not trudging.

Trekking is much more adventurous, trudging implies we had to stop every ten feet and sit on our bags to rest.

Well, ok, we may have actually stopped every ten feet, but that was because we wanted to enjoy the scenery and the experience of the 60 degree incline while toting a suitcase, a carryon and our camera bags.

Trekking, trudging, whatever. But frolicking it was not.

But I digress. I have a nephew getting married that weekend and my grandson will be in the wedding. Can't miss that one.

Hope you guys have a good time and don't believe all of Cissy's stories.

OH, and Cissy. Make sure you have GB take his shoes off to show you his holey socks he stole from his neighbor's garbage can.

As of right now it looks good for Shifty and me. Do we have to make our own reservations ahead of time or is (someone) else on this task.

What time are we planning on being there. Are any of you planning on spending the night in that local or are you traveling back and forth.

Please fill us in on any details.

Look forward to seeing all of you.

Sounds like a great time, but I'll have to miss this one. I'll be at the State Fair helping an old buddy show cattle; been doing it for several years. It's amazing how many kids (and parents) that come through the barns and ask if they can touch the "cows". Often the kids have never seen one live and up close much less touched one, and the parents often are the same. It's great to see the kids (mom and dad too) touch a 1-2 day old calf and react to the whole experience. Lucky to have grown up when and where I did and to have had access to 4-H and all that went with the Valley and CGHS. Not to mention the summer night / morning that Buck came down Morgantown Road to visit Poco; seems like that was around 3-4 in the morning and a pretty good trick to find his way to the barn in the dark, considering that he had only been to visit once before. I can remember that . . .but where the heck did I leave my keys?
Everyone have a safe trip!
