Edinburgh Bound?

Added to comments in the post below:

Hello All,

Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow Sept. 26.

I sent directions to those who requested them. If any of you need directions or get lost just call 317-729-2440. Shifty will put up signs again to guide you in.

Didn't hear from a lot of you on what you planned to bring so Shifty and I are gonna start cooking tonight. Rest assured there will be plenty. If we have doubles of anything we will all just have to eat more.

This weather is not working to our benefit. (IF) weather permits we still plan on the fire. So bring chairs and jackets. Never know what to expect. If to wet and muddy we will just have to suffer and swap stories around the kitchen table instead of the fire.

Look forward to seeing all of you tomorrow.

Shifty & Karen

PS> If anyone needs a place to roost bring an extra blanket there is plenty of room.

Campers welcome. Can park by the barn and there is electric you can hook up to.

If you're coming, we'll catch up on all your news there. If not, please tell us what's goin' on in your life in comments here.
I left my camera at work, so someone please bring theirs and get photos to share.
...News of Echo's mini coming here ASAP.

I'm not going to Echo's this weekend. My niece's husband is in critical condition in the ICU in St. Mary's in Evansville. I'm staying home for any one from out of town wanting to stay here. Please keep Mike Broeker in your thoughts and prayers. He has been on a ventilator and in a chemically induced coma since Sept. 6.

Echo & Shifty,
Thanks for another great Mini! We got to share some time with folks we don't see too often and as usual, it was terrific. And for those who couldn't make it (OJ and others) we send our thoughts and prayers.

We had a little rain but we made it through. (I left my windows down about 1/2 inch . . . . it was a little damp driving home.) Hey TD, that little red fire truck could move pretty well down the road couldn't he? He just kinda disappeared over the hill . . . Oh, and by the way, concealed under the rotund body is a finely tuned machine just waiting to re-appear. Maybe next year. . . . With age I've gained a certain amount of Wisdom and try to avoid rushing blindly into anything that I've not given proper time to evaluate. So maybe I'll start the diet on Tuesday instead of Monday. Thanks again, and thanks to those who we shared some time with.

What a great time...
Thank you Echo and Shifty!

Well, we had decent weather for the first few hours but the rain began just as Shifty walked out to start the bonfire. Soon it was pouring, but that didn't stop folks from gathering and visiting.
Once again we had great food and great fellowship and if you had been there you'd be glad you were.

We're already planning for future minis that may prove of interest to ya, so stay tuned!

Thanks to all of you who attended the mini. It was so wonderful to welcome you once again.
Each mini brings so much love and friendship into our lives. It is hard to put into words what these get togethers mean to all of us. There is more than friendship in these mini reunions.

It is more like a family being together than just friends. For any of you who have adopted children or step children you know that blood does not make the mother, father or clild. It is the love and respected that is shared that make the family. And this was truly a gathering of FAMILY.

As those of you who attended know Sunday was Shifty and my 29th wedding anniversary. What a wonderful way to celebrate a day early with family. It took me three times to get it right but I got a good one.

Thanks Greybeard and Sara Jean for the anniversary breakfast.

Ferdy, sure missed you. Our prayers are with your niece's husband. Please keep us posted as to his progress.

Love to all of you and know that our door is alway open.

Echo, I'm sorry I missed your mini. Sounds like everyone had a great time.

If any one wants to check on my niece's husband you can go to www.caringbridge.org/visit/mikebroeker. He's still in a coma and on a vent; but; he is starting to make a little progress. They haven't been able to find out what the real problem is. Mike's neighbor died August 21 with the same symptoms. They don't know what he died of either. Both men were healthy young men 40 years old. They graduated from high school together. Their back yards are separated by an alley. The city of Huntingburg had done some digging in the alley before the men got sick. The county and state health depts. of investigated and have found nothing. If Mike survives I think it's going to be a long process. The family appreciates every one's prayers.

I meant to say the county and state health depts. "have" investigated and found nothing. They have ran tests for everything from drugs, HIV, swine flu, etc. on both men and everything comes back negative. The autopsy report for the neighbor says something about acute respitory distress syndrome followed with several question marks. I think every one feels sure there is a connection between the neighbor and Mike; but, they haven't found the cause for either man.

Sounds like the Center for Disease Control needs to get involved Ferdy. That's scary stuff.
Please keep the updates coming.
