I Don't Think We're In Kansas Anymore...

It saddens me to say I'm not surprised at this.

How idyllic our memories seem, compared to what kids face today.

I use to think my kids were safe when they were in school - after all this was a small town school. Then one day when our girls were in high school they came home and told us the things they had heard were suppose to happen the next day at school. My husband called the principal about it. The principal had already heard about it from other parents and he had already notified the police. The next day there were police and police dogs at school. They walked the halls all day. During classes the teachers had to leave the doors open. I was glad the police and their dogs were there; but, I could not imagine how the students could keep their minds on their studies with police and dogs walking the halls. What do these kids think they are going to accomplish by murdering other students and teachers? Is there no place safe for our children?

Brings back the memory of an occasional bomb threat called in to the school.
Let us pray that it was just a kid too dumb to realize the ramifications of this.
With what kids are exposed to these days, violence in movies, music and games, you have to expect the worse and pray for the best. They don't realize death is permanent.

Ditto GH there is no dress rehearsal / this is it! I've said it before and so have others . . . . How lucky we were to have grown up when we did . . . CG was CG, the Valley was just the Valley, and trouble was getting caught with no hall pass by Vandy aka the claw. And just so you don't worry GH, we will talk about you Saturday night in your absence along with others, but it will be good.
