The CGHS class of 1965 was almost twice the size of the class of '64.
MUCH construction at our school had been accomplished to accommodate the influx of me and my post-WII baby classmates.
(This "crisis" was made more critical by the serious fire that burned much of the school down just before we even started.)
In the Autumn of '64 "Two Dogs", our class President, came to me and asked me to select a few quotations to present to the class from which our "class motto" could be selected. I took this task seriously, and considered the fact that our class size was... a serious matter for the world we were impacting, our Nation, and the world.
I offered up four quotations. But even before they were voted for I knew which would be the winner-
"Give us a place to stand, and we will move the world."
We did.
And we have.
The '65 class motto is true, even to this day, isn't it?
Our political influence is strong today.
And the way we now vote on health care for "the elderly" will have a dramatic impact on the National Budget, and the fiscal survival of our Nation.

Graybeard asked if I remember this. My reply - "YES. I do not remember.”
How is that for a boomer answer????
But it is a great motto and has been very representative of our generation. Over the years, we 'Boomers' have been to school/been schooled, fought wars, found/lost jobs, found/lost love, married and raised babies and have been everyday Joes and even leaders of nations. Now some say we are at the end of our time. I say - we should continue to have a big presence going forward. AND VOTE. As many times as you can…… Just being funny there!
More serious - As a nation, we have some real issues to work out. Not afraid of the future for us - but questions remain for future generations. I hope we can help find solutions!
