Saturday Open Forum

GB's on a road trip but if he were home, he might post an open forum note.
Got something to share? Take this opportunity.

While you are doing that, I'm going to continue my quest to organize the garage. It's been a mess since we moved in and that’s over 10 years ago! I can't take it anymore!! I've been working on it for the last week and things are much better. Now I have to clear out the attic junk,,, and then the junk in the shed (gawd it just never ends!).

My real goal: if one of us (or both) kick the bucket earlier than planned, whoever has to deal with our stuff will find it all neat and labeled. The junk store will appreciate that ;))) (anyone want to make bets on my success??)

OK the forum is yours!

O.K. PT, now that you have experience in organizing and labeling garage items; I'll welcome you to our attic. NOW THAT IS A CHALLENGE. Oh, My!!

PT,

I just saw a "garage makeover" on TV. How do you get those people to come and do that for free?

Your dedication is admirable! My shed is waiting...

Hey PT...
Ft. Benjamin Harrison is now Lawrence, Indiana... did ya know that?
They've turned all the Officer's Quarters into condos... all the other buildings into office space. The parade grounds, as you might imagine, is a park.

White River no longer stinks.
Indiana Avenue is no longer scary.

Wish you were here!

Indiana Avenue didn't scare you GB? Wait till you see me....where is that Flygirl when I need her to help me clean up? She's the only one who can make me look good for public appearances; so don't let me scare you too much 'cause she ain't here!

Thanks Asoka and Bo but I don't think I'm going to survive my garage much less take on your challenges.

Remember in Fried Green Tomatoes when Jessica Tandy said something like "at the end of our lives, all our important stuff will fit in a shoebox" (or something like that.)

I've thought of that so many times. She had only a handful of photos and cards.

Good grief! I've found TRUNKS of photos and cards! Plus linen that was embroidered by someone long dead! And tatting! Who the heck does tatting anymore? And a dress I wore in a dear friend's wedding. And even silly stuff from HS, nurses training and all the places I’ve lived in the last 40 years

Maybe I should just get a really BIG shoe box and forget this nonsense of getting organized.

Indiana Ave isn't scary!! REALLY!??

The nurses' residence was about a half block from there. There was an apartment complex at Indiana Ave and 10th (I think) Indiana Gardens? Or something like that

Man oh man, it was scary.

There was a running gun fight on top of the hospital one night. Another time a female doctor was accosted by a bunch of kids and robbed INSIDE the hospital. That happened to one of my nurse friends too.

Not scary huh? Yep, I need to see this!

PT.
OK the heck with my garage, basement, and Shifty's barn. Get your bottom back here to Indy and help me get my house in some kind of order before the mini. Having been under the weather, the garden coming in all at once and my business my house has been lost in the shuffel.

IF I don't get it cleaned up there is only one other choice in the matter and that is to roll it up and put it out for the trash.

So for those of you coming to the mini if you see "dust bunnies" grab a dust rag.

And if that darned kitchen floor is dirty, GRAB A MOP !!. Hey, Fly Girl just a hint !!!
