Carol, Thanks for the pictures. The banquet was a lot of fun this year. It was great to see all of you. We need to get more there next year.
Carol, It was nice seeing you at the CG Banquet even though you did not remember me from teaching you in 1958-59. At that time you were a skinny, blonde headed girl, full of questions, with a class of kids that I really enjoyed teaching. So I did remember you. Your old sixth grade teacher, Mr. L
If we work on getting a bigger crowd next year, do ya suppose they'll have food for everyone? ;>) For those of you not attending, the organizers were surprised by the numbers that showed up "at the door" to purchase tickets. There was some confusion about whether the caterer had made enough food, and a near-fight broke out over who would get the last bowl of apple crisp. (Well, once again that's an exaggeration... but the rest of it is true.) I was knocked out by the "CG Sound System" kids. If you're not aware of them, and most of us were not, they are a dynamite song and dance troop, as professional as any you would see at Six Flags or Kings Island. They have a show coming up next month that I'd buy tickets to go see if we were geographically closer... They're that good.
Thanks Carol for posting the pictures. I'll download mine and see if there are any worth sharing here soon.
Mr. L. It was such a pleasure to me you and your lovely wife. I enjoyed out visit.
I didn't come to CG until the 7th grade so missed out on being "one of your kids". But you made me feel like one at the Banquet. I have heard so many good things about you and your teaching. I feel I really missed something.
You mentioned that you had heard so much about the Oct. mini reunion that Shifty and I host each year. Please know that the door is always open. And hope to see you again next year at the Alumni Banquet.
GB It was so good to see you and Sara Jean. I agree with you about the CG Sound System kids. They totally blew me away. I was amazed at the professionalism of their dance routines.
I would love to know how much was invested in their costumes. Our oldest son went to CG and I am sure that had they had something like this when he was in school Shifty and I would have had to take out a small loan to afford the costumes.
Speaking of money. Did any of you hear on Channel 8 news last night that CG is trying to get passed a (ONE HUNDRED MILLION DOLLAR) renovation for the school? (IF) they do get it passed I am sure glad I now live in Shelby County and won't have to pay the Johnson County tax.
Looking forward to your pictures. If you have any of me in them I sure hope they are more flattering than Carols. HAHA
Echo, It was really nice to meet you finally. I had heard so much about you from other members of the class of '65. It was so nice for Mary Lee and myself to be at the same table with you and your husband along with the Reads and David Jester. We had a great evening. Thanks for the invitation to your annual get together at your home. The evening was so wonderful seeing many former students. Mr. L

The Deb Tones? Whould this have been the same group that recorded "Knock Knock Who's There" on RCA Back in '59?
