The Log Inn, Haubstadt, Indiana

The Log Inn-
Officially recognized as the oldest restaurant in Indiana. the Log Inn was built in 1825 and has been in continuous business since. In 1999, The Log Inn was recognized by the Indiana Association of Cities and Towns as being at the top of the list of Indiana's Favorite Hometown Restaurants. Once a stop on the stage coach route between Evansville and Vincennes, the Log Inn was visited by Abraham Lincoln in 1844 on his way home from a campaign tour in Evansville. Oil paintings, antiques, and original relics of this early period are displayed throughout the restaurant. Located one mile east of US Hwy 41 on Old State Road in Warrenton, today the Log Inn is widely known for its rustic charm and family-style dinners.

I've heard of this place and always wanted to go.

This is the place I was thinking of; but, couldn't remember the name. Some of my friends have been there and say it's really nice. I can go any time except March 12 -19. I'm going to Beth and Nick's to babysit Libby while they go to Virginia to visit Rich and his family. For you who don't know me, Libby is their chocolate lab!

Without too much planning involved - Let's pick a time convenient to all and just Do It....

I'm game. Anytime there is good food and great friends I'll try to be there.

I'll check my calendar but as of right now the only thing I've got comeing up is Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Too lazy to sign in.

TC, you remind me of that old "Hee Haw" segment... "Grandpa, what's for dinner?"
Yum Yum!
My mouth is watering.

TD, when will Cinders be home? (I don't want to have to share my wife with ya.)

Info for the rest of you-
TD and I are both working short-handed at work, and I may have started the snowball down the hill on something I (we) may have difficulty attending. Any light at the end of the tunnel TD?

Take a look at your schedules about a month out folks, and suggest some dates.

Cinders is home. My 'vac' time is going to be limited - but, a Saturday or Sunday afternoon in March or April is not out of the question. I'll throw out a couple of potential dates. Everybody chime in on their availability. March 28 or 29, April 11 or 12 - Any of these work for anybody/everybody?

The two March dates would work best for me. My youngest daughter's birthday is April 11. I'm not sure yet what we're doing for her birthday. But if one of the April dates works best for every one else, I'll schedule Sara's birthday dinner around that.

My schedule is subject to change the moment we fill our vacant pilot's seat, but right now the only suggested day that works for me is Sunday evening, 29March.
TC, I'm sure DJ will expect the cole slaw to come in a pretty bowl!

Glad to hear your lovely bride is safely home, TD...
Gonna call Sara Jean and tell her right now, and she may be calling.

March 28th or 29th works for us. April 11th,12th weekend Good Friday weekend. Easter on Sunday the 12th.

OK - Let's tentatively plan for Sunday March 29th. We know the location. Now - we need to come up with a time. Input please!

While we're setting a time, let's remember we're not all in the same time zone. This created a problem when Sara got married in Spencer County and her reception was in Dubois County. Some people from Dubois County missed the ceremony.

I can make it any time that works for every one else.

Any time for me too. I'm used to the time zone change in that area because my daughter lived in Evansville. I hate it, but I'm used to it.

Any time good for us. We only have a 25 minute drive.
