Facebook

Harry and Carol do it.
Carol and Tracy do it.
Marilyn F. does it.
Mr. and Mrs. Hawkeye do it.
Ferdy does it.
Bomargirl does it.

Tools does it.
Mommanurse does it.

Cissy does it, and by using it just reconnected with several old classmates.
Rita does it too, as does brother Mike.
I wrote in this post how I got back in touch with Bob P., and via him and others hope to find other schoolmates and friends.
Let me re-emphasize...
Don't be frightened to "stick your toe in".
Facebook is wonderful, and it makes "reaching out" to find old associates easy and fun.

Take a look. Try it.
I bet you'll be glad you did.

Yep, I've tried "twittering" and wasn't impressed. MySpace is ok, but not as good as Facebook. Just watch out for some games--do not install Gamevance! And some of those silly aps and surveys are just ploys to get information from you. So just do the plain ol' Facebook. Oh, I do like to Farkle once in awhile too.

Hi All, Letting ya'll know that we could not get the first house we talked about. We have spent most of the day in Eufaula Alabama. I have been looking at rental places. We found out that the cottages at lake point are all booked for the April Pilgrimage. There are rooms at the lodge. If we are going to stay at lake point we will have to move very soon. It is like a motel so we would each have to secure your own rooms. If you would want a room facing the lake, it would have to be a king size room at a $108.60 including taxes. We would have to eat out each and every meal. Sounds good to my wife. The other option would be renting a house or two. I am funny about how many people are in the room i'm sleeping in I hate to keep them awake snoring or what ever. We have found 2 houses close to each other. If we are going to do this then we need to move on it this week. The cost is $145.00 a night per house plus cleaning fees. We would have to do most of our own cooking. If we use the houses we will be 15 to 18 miles from town. ON what we call 2 trail roads.(don't need four wheel drive this time)We need to know your ideas immediately. Carol and Harry

H & C, Thanks for all of your work trying to put this together.

We are fine to do either. I am like you - I like my own bedroom. So, the choices are two homes 15 miles away w/ just one boat or motel type rooms at LakePoint State Park - still w/ just one boat - but, with the opportunity to rent watercraft from the park and also the park is closer to town. The houses will be a little cheaper, probably by about half or so when you add everything up. 250 +/- per couple for the (2) houses for 4 nights vs. 500 per couple for a lodge room for 4 nights.

Thanks H&C for researching this. My thinking is- we already have enough interest indicated to reserve the houses. Seems to me there is little downside for reserving now, and there might be "wailing and gnashing of teeth" if we don't!
Airbeds, anyone?
(I'll bring earplugs.)

We've got 2 air bags, we'll bring ours. My CPAP machine doesn't make too much noise and it keeps me from snoring.

From the comments I will go to work on the houses today (sunday)

I have two twin airbags and the sound of the CPAP would drown out my tinnitus so I wouldn't need a TV going all night long! Actually, the Ambien ensures I no longer stay awake all night long.

I think we'll find we have more than enough air beds to go around, and we're not talking about the old "air mattresses" we used to sleep on during camping outings...
These are within a few degrees of being just as comfortable as your bed at home. We'll insure everyone has a comfortable place to sleep, and we may be able to produce enough "White noise" to camouflage the "ambient" noises!

I'd just like to emphasize how BEAUTIFUL this place is.
Please start making plans to attend, and spread the word to others-
The more the merrier!

Sharon and I are in for whatever. Were flexible. Thanks again H & C for everything I know we'll have a great time.
